This is a yummy meal,I made this for my English Hubby and he just LOVES IT!! It is a dish that I have made for a very long time. It's just something that I put together one day when I was hungry for something different. My family really enjoys this meal when I fix it.It's Delish!!!!!
My brother and I cook up this quick and easy recipe every Friday night when my mom is out with her friends/family. It's yummy yummy and has the potential to evolve into much more...but we like it just the way it is. I hope you enjoy!!
I'm originally from Minnesota, and if Minnesota is famous for one thing, it's hotdish. You might know it better as casserole, or something like that, but in Minnesota, it's hotdish. This is my mom's recipe, the same one that she used to make for me when I was little.
This is definitely a kid (and husband) pleaser in my household!! I've taken a classic casserole and added a few extras to it. The only thing I would add, but can't is green beans. I have to serve them on the side, as my family doesn't like them mixed in.
This is a hearty one-dish meal you can throw together in minutes. My family has been making it this way since I was a kid and we've always called it Jacob's Pie. Shepherd's Pie (I later learned), contains cooked tomatoes which is something we were never too crazy about as kids. I hope it reminds you of home as much as it does me!
This is a family favorite that I learned from my Mom. It has been passed down and I am sure it has changed over the years, but everyone that has it loves it. I use it anytime I need a nice side dish in a pinch!! The left overs reheat nicely and never stick around more than a day or so! I tend to cook by sight, so I did my best to approximate the measurements. I like to make this with fried chicken, grilled salmon, pork roast, etc with a fresh salad or veggie. It really is a versatile dish that leaves you free to tend to your main dish or dessert prep!!
Chicken, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and cream of chicken soup enveloped by pie crust in a casserole dish or pie pan. Adjust serving size accordingly. You can substitute the chicken for turkey or go vegan and hold the meat and substitute the cream of chicken for cream of broccoli, celery, or mushroom.
This was one of the first things I started cooking. To this day my husband loves this meal and its great to make ahead and just throw in the oven when you are ready to eat. You can use any cream of whatever if you want this is just our favorite combination.
There is a similar recipe posted on here but I thought I would post my variation of this awesome main dish meal!! This has been in my family for years and is my daughter's favorite birthday meal!
Serve with warm biscuits
Not sure where I got this one originally, but it's one that we used to make frequently. A quick and simple dinner. I've also used biscuit dough from a can for the topping when I was in a severly lazy mood!
