This is not so much a recipe...but a GREAT idea...and if you have ever had a kid who played ball, this IS your basic Little League Ballpark food. These are great for the kids when they have sleep overs. They also make great "hand held" food for football games in front of the TV!!!

I'm becoming a outdoor cooking affectionado, especially on an open campfire, so much that I even put a fire pit in the back yard! I love to do these when we are camping. (My trick is to put the potatoes just off of the campfires hottest coals before we settle in for the night, in the morning if they are not done they are at least almost done so that a quick stint in the hot coals will get them totally cooked. BUT DONT DO THIS if you are in a place where you are in danger of a major fire if you leave the fire going all night. We have a pit with no chance of it spreading so what I do is safe.)

    Recipe #95682

I found this recipe on Scoutorama.com while looking for easy, no fuss/no clean-up meals for our upcoming camping trip. All ingredient amounts can be changed to suit your tastes. I imagine we'll be increasing the amounts and adding onions and peppers to the mommy and daddy breakfast bags!

    Recipe #178032

In the sixties I was a Camp Fire Girl and this is a recipe we learned to make and cook over a campfire. We made ours with a pork chop, potatoes, carrots and onion. I've tried to revise it so you can use any of your families favorite vegetables and meat. You could make these before you leave home and put them in a waterproof container in your ice chest. List of meats that work good: chicken tenders, smoked sausage slices, ground beef patties, ground turkey patties, thin boneless pork chops. List of vegetables that work good: carrots, green beans, corn, mixed vegetables, etc. (Vegetables can be fresh, frozen or canned). Be creative!

Save the mesh bags that have avocados, oranges or lemons. You can use all of the veggies or just the ones you like. Boiled, mashed together and seasoned. Great with fish, bratwurst, polish sausage or chicken.

    Recipe #184238

This is wonderful served in a bowl, topped with cheddar cheese and crusty buns on the side, if you don't have a crock pot just simmer on top of the stove over low heat for about 3 hours or more.

I threw this salad together last week took pictures of it and was requested to post the recipe - This is a refreshing combination of fruit, Serve with a fresh hot muffin or toast. It is also nice for lunch with a 1/2 cup of Cottage Cheese on the side.

    Recipe #114593

A wonderful Dutch oven breakfast perfect for camping trips.

    Recipe #158969

Make your own hamburger mix (not Lipton packets in here!) If you use grass fed beef, the beef doesn't shrink bcz there's not a ton of fat in it! But you may have to add a little oil.

    Recipe #245211

This is a recipe I made up myself. My whole family likes it. I have gotten dried pineapple at Sam's Club.

    Recipe #189269

On a chilled Sunday afternoon, right before game time, I started the outside cook area up with a "whoosh!" Yes, I cook in our "pit" (an open campfire cooking area we had made just for this purpose.) I threw a bunch of soft and hard slabs of wood to make a sizzling fire that sparks and allows coals to develop for cooking and using my old dutch oven. I open the canned beans, and throw in my onions, celery and peppers into the dutch oven and allow the cooking begin.

I came up with this one while getting ready for camping - what to make on a camp stove or fire that two picky kids would eat? They loved them!

    Recipe #246105

This is one of the first things I learned to cook, thanks to my girl guide leaders. Whenever we went camping we made these tasty bananas for desert. Kids will love them in all their oooohy gooooey goodness. Pure chocolate bars are best for this, in my opinion, instead of ones with fillings.

    Recipe #88640

After trying Pamela's frozen breakfast bagels and tweaking that recipe to my family's taste, I decided to give the idea of pre-cooked and frozen eggs a try on a recent camping trip. The result, I decided, was post-worthy. For those of you familiar with camp irons or pie irons, if you've tried doing bacon and eggs sandwiched between two slices of bread, the result may have been rather messy, since the bread is usually toasted to perfection long before the egg is cooked. This recipe will fix that.

    Recipe #181226

I have never had sticky chicken, but I saw this recipe in the newspaper recently and thought I'd try it sometime. The recipe explains how to prepare this ahead of time so you can make it for an easy campfire meal. We don't go camping, but I figure you can make it at home, too! The recipe source is from Don Jacobson's "The One Pan Gourmet".
