All kinds of cake's! Chocolate cakes, fruity cakes, cheesecakes, carrotcakes, if it says cake and I thought it looked delish, it's here! No, I haven't tried them all, but when we have potlucks I pick "something sweet" and practice on my work friends!
This was so easy to make and tastes delicious. I was also able to use some with some red food coloring to decorate the cake. I have had it written on a piece of paper for a long time.. don't know where I got it, but I needed to make a cake today and remembered this. This makes enough to frost and fill a two layer 9 inch cake, or frost a sheet cake.
This delectable frosting can be made ahead and refrigerated; if refrigerated, however, it must stand at room temperature to soften before use. If using a hand-held mixer, increase mixing times significantly (at least 50 percent). This recipe can be doubled to make enough for a two-layer cake.
A wonderful frosting I have used for years made in very little time with perfect results and 100% better than any canned, this frosting is so good you will find yourself eating a fair amount of it before even using it to frost with! --- choose the amount of cocoa powder you desire for either a light, medium or dark frosting, and make certain to sift the cocoa powder and the confectioners sugar before using for the recipe--- this frosting *freezes* very well so double the recipe and freeze one batch for next time --- *NOTE* for an ultra creamy fluffy milk chocolate frosting add in 1 to 1-1/2 cups thawed Cool Whip topping at the end of mixing the frosting and beat on low speed until blended ------- also see my recipe#80118 ---- recipe#282040 --- recipe#90142
Simple, buttercream frosting made with orange juice for a tangy twist! Goes wonderfully on lemon cake, or over vanilla or pound cake. Even unusually good on chocolate cake! Thicker than a glaze, but not as stiff as store bought frostings. You can expect it to spread a little when you apply it, but don't worry, in a few moments it will be set in place. Glossy, elegant, and delicious!
I was making a kid's rich, chocolate birthday cake and tried some experimenting. This turned out FABULOUS and hardens like a royal icing. The color is a light latté color and can be tinted most darker shades. This recipe requires POWDERED/CONFECTIONARY sugar! If you have a granular mess or weird texture it is because you used granular sugar.
Company was coming and I wanted something easy, quick, yet nice for dessert and came up with this recipe. It was raved over. You may make it in a bowl like a trifle or free standing on a plate. If you assemble it on a plate, stick four bamboo skewers through it to keep it from shifting. I used purchased sponge cake, or if you like try an angel food cake. We have a dairy that makes wonderful no fat French Vanilla yogurt and it worked well but it is your choice to find your favorite. I used Mango French Vanilla and some plain French Vanilla on top, again choose your favorite to compliment the blueberries. This dessert can be made a day ahead and kept in the refrigerator or serve it right away.
I always use this when I decorate cakes and I get many, many compliments on the wonderful taste. It is not that usual shortening-and-sugar-bakery-icing taste. If I am not using it to decorate a cake with, I use my all butter variation: Recipe #261024.
This is similar to bakery frosting and so much better than any canned! --- for extra fluffy frosting use heavy cream and make certain to beat for at least 3-5 minutes and remember to sift the confectioners sugar before using. For flavor and color you can add 1-2 envelopes 3-grams each, Duncan Hines Frosting Creations Flavor Mix, any flavor desired.
This is a yummy variation of a favorite frosting. It perfectly complements a chocolate carrot cake, chocolate pumpkin cake or chocolate zucchini cake (or the un-chocolate versions, thereof) plus others you will think of.
YUM!!! This is an excellent frosting which incorporates two of my favorite things...peanut butter and cream cheese and it's also easy to make. I used it to frost a banana cake I made (recipe #50349-which is an excellent cake recipe) and it was soooo good! I found this recipe on another recipe website. I'm thinking it would also be great on chocolate cake.
