If you are craving chocolate, look no further! This cake is the ultimate in decadence and takes so few ingredients. It's dense, fudge-like and the ganache is delicious. I like to garnish it with some fresh raspberries. This recipe comes from a cookbook called, "Beyond Parsley". Enjoy!
Note: time does not include refrigeration.
From the Recipe Hall of Fame Cookbook II. This recipe includes a buttermilk glaze in addition to cream cheese frosting. Preparation time does not include chilling time. This cake is knock-down, drag-out delicious.
Please note I have not tried this as yet and I really prefer posting recipes that I try firstly but this was submitted for a request on the boards. I am not claiming it to be the *real* Starbuck's gingerbread, but it may be very close. There was no mention as to what size pan to bake it in so use your own judgment. I assume by the amount of ingredients an 8x8, 9x9 or an 11x7-inch pan would work fine.
I was in search of a great yellow cake made from scratch that would taste good if not better than the box. I use this one all the time for my catering business. It makes a thick cake. 6/3/08 Made some changes to make it better.
This recipe came from Gourmet magazine, and was posted in reply to a message board request. Callebaut semisweet chocolate for the cake and Guittard French-vanilla chocolate for the frosting, but any fine-quality semisweet chocolate will produce a wonderful result in either. Use 2 10-inch x 2-inch round cake pans
This a one of my more recent recipes, one which was passed along from a family member. I have to tell you he so knows how to choose fantastic tasting desserts and this one is fantastic. Well worth the splurge for all those special occasions, or when you want to make something extra special! Yes, we love this one!
I made this prize winning cake this morning and I just loved it. I substituted Bob's Red Mill Whole Wheat Pastry Flour for the all purpose flour and I used soy sour cream and vegan margarine instead any dairy products. The flavor is very nice and nutty. It would go great with a cup of grain beverage coffee. I got this recipe from a Better Homes & Gardens mini-book called the Best of Hometown Cooking. This tasted much better after sitting in the fridge overnight.
Chocolate, Almond, & Coconut make up this 2 layer cake. One layers is the coconut layer and the other is chocolate almond. This is made for a crowd. You can make the whole cake or just each layer. If baking both cakes at once be sure to rotate them in the oven for even baking.
