    This chocolate cake is absolutely thee best we have ever had. It is so moist and rich, I never make anything else (unless I am short on time :) The frosting recipe included goes perfectly with this cake, but you can use any frosting you like. Try this once and you'll see why I call it "The Only Chocolate Cake Recipe You'll Ever Need"!! Adding 2/18/06: I want to note that I recently used sweetened whipped heavy cream with vanilla and it was just as fabulous as the frosting recipe listed, plus much easier. I also used hazelnut coffee in the cake and it added even more of a little extra something!

    Amy Sedaris, so I hear, sells her cupcakes in New York City bakeries. I found this recipe for Amy's cupcakes on the web, but I don't remember where. This was my first time making cupcakes from scratch and I have to say, I was quite proud of the results. I gave them away to friends and family, and everyone loved them. March 2, 2011 Hi, guys! It was several years ago that I found and posted this recipe. Since then, Amy Sedaris has published a cookbook which contains her recipe for vanilla cupcakes. It's not the same as this one. :( Like I said before, I don't remember where I found this recipe, but I remember that the person who posted it was very certain about it being Amy Sedaris's recipe.

    Note: 1/2 cup buttermilk = 1/2 cup milk plus 1.5 tsp lemon juice or vinegar (let stand for 10 minutes, before using in recipe)

    Yummy and easy. Use in the center of cakes, jelly rolls or other desserts. It is deliberately on the runny side as I like my fillings to soak into the cake to add extra moisture. To make a filling that is thicker, increase the cornstarch by a teaspoon at a time until it is as thick as you are used to!
