There’s just something about warm spice blended into the sweet taste of chocolate – just divine. The most traditional mixture of cinnamon and chocolate I can think of is Mexican Hot Chocolate. You’ll find a ton of different recipes for Mexican Hot Chocolate but in the end the important ingredients are chocolate and some kind of spice (whether it be chili powder, cinnamon or both). These are lovely to add to a gift basket and they will ship well enough if it isn't going to take too long to get to the destination and they are carefully packed (they made the trip from Canada to Texas quite well). I didn't add the shortening to the chocolate and drizzled it on top in wide ribbons and sprinkled the nuts onto that before it set.
If made with decaffeinated coffee, this soothing drink is ideal for sipping while watching a video on a lazy Saturday night. If made with regular coffee you might be up to keep the stars company if drank in the evening.
