    This ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, wholesome cold cereal is even easier than granola, and it’s filled with wonderful flavor and texture. I am going to make this once a week from now is SO GOOD!! Recipe is from Light and Tasty’s June/July 2005 issue. Cook time is chilling in the fridge. You can substitute other dried fruits or nuts: I didn't have any apples on hand, so I used raisins instead.     I started experimenting with breakfast ideas for my husband who is too busy at work to sit down for long to eat. The seasonings, cheese, meat and bread I have listed are just suggestions (my husband's preference). Add veggies if you like! The possibilities are endless! If you want to cut down on the meat and save some money, replace part of the sausage with textured vegetable protein. It will take on the flavor of the sausage and make it a little lower in fat. Just follow the directions on the TVP package to prepare. TVP is usually in the health food section at the store.

    I like to call these 'Cheesy Goodness'. I'm telling you these are really great!! Now I confess I put in more veggies than they suggest on SBD and SBD uses egg substitute but, man, are they good!! My family had them for breakfast at Thanksgiving last year. You know, when your rushing aroung trying to prepare stuff and want to eat very light. They LOVED them! NOTES: Make sure you really spray entire cup and use FOIL baking cups. Paper cups don't hold up. Can be frozen and reheated in the microwave or toaster oven. Any combination of appropriate vegetables and cheeses and protein may be used. If using fresh spinach use 1 (one) pound well rinsed and blanched.
