    nice for company

    Recipe #489885

delicious crepes can be used for dessert or side dishes.

    Recipe #489849

This recipe is for a matzo substitute for gluten-free folks. Though they aren't "kosher matzo" (matzah shmura) for Passover due to not containing any of the 5 grains that matzo are supposed to be made of, they are made of Kosher for Pesach ingredients so they can be used for other purposes, such as enjoying charoset and maror sandwiches or snacking on during the week of Passover. Don't expect them to taste or have the texture of regular matzo - They don't. But they are still pleasant tasting (no bread of oppression here!) and crispy.

I got this recipe from aunt in 1959. She says that the rolls freeze wonderfully and can be reheated in the microwave. Her other hint is that she also uses the dough as a refrigerator dough and bakes the rolls the next day.

It just takes a few minutes to make wonderful, homemade noodles. All you need is flour, egg and a pinch of salt 2 tablespoons of milk. What a tasty addition to fresh chicken soup! My grand kids love these noodles in chicken broth with shredded chicken. If you are in a hurry you can drop little chunks of the mix into boiling broth instead of rolling, cutting, and letting dry. They are more like dumplings than noodles this way. (They must be VERY small chunks because if they aren't dried first they puff up...)

YES!! Homemade fluffy biscuits are easy to make with this simple recipe using plenty of baking soda to help create giant biscuits. Serve with gravy or butter and jam.

    Recipe #497917

Seasoned saltine crackers that are simple to make and add a special touch for your dips and spreads at parties. I have had these on several occasions at bachelorette parties and babies showers but was never given the recipe. My sister had them recently at a birthday party, got the recipe, and passed it on to me. Unfortunately, I don't know who to credit for this, but it's certainly a keeper!!! Was initially concerned about the amount of oil, but hey, it's party food, RIGHT? I have used whole wheat crackers and different kinds of dip/dressing mixes successfully so have fun and get creative!

When I was in Mexico, one of the silliest but best things I remember eating, were homemade soda crackers that were served with our meal. They were still warm right out of the oven, and heavenly. We had them in a quaint little restaurant in a village called Taxco. These are just like them! It makes a lot, but you won't believe how quickly you'll go through them!!

I went out on a limb to try out this new recipe idea on my family for Thanksgiving, and it was a huge hit! The chicken stock makes all the difference.

    Recipe #490902

These brownies are fudgey, gooey, chewy and so dark they're almost unholy... Just one bite of this extremely dark brownie is all it takes to send you into a chocolate coma. Lightweights, beware! Enjoy with a tall glass of milk. UPDATE 3/19 Recommended pan size is 9x13. UPDATE 11/28: Appended Recipe. Brownies are no longer a thick dough but an oozy batter that looks cakey going in but is incredibly fudgy coming out. It's like eating a piece of fudge...

I got this from a old dear neighbor that is gone now, and I make it quite often, not just on St. Patrick's Day. The neighbors love it too, they will usually ask if I have enough to share with them, as I did, and of course I am always happy to oblighe.

Source: "Fine Cooking" This is one of my recently adopted recipes. I prepared it and it is wonderful. The end result are rolls with a crispy crust and soft chewy center. I always add wheat gluten when adding the flour. This produces a superior quality of bread so I am including it in the list of ingredients.

A nice light lemon flavoured muffin that is good to have for morning or afternoon tea, or, as a dessert served with some whipped cream and maybe some fresh berries.
