Homemade hamburger rolls with only a 10 minute rising time. These are really good. Recipe from Taste of Home.

Who would have thought you could improve on the package directions of Kool-Aid? Well, you can! This is now my family's favourite way to prepare Kool-Aid, at one-and-a-half strength. We tried it at double-strength, but preferred this method, with this amount of sweetness. The extra flavour burst is particularly noticeable, we have found, with cherry, orange, and grape.

This recipe was posted in reply to a beer bread request on the "Recipe Request" message board. "Alaskan Beer Quick Bread by John McGhee. A great addition with any Alaskan beer and to any meal!"

After many years of experimentation, I think these are the best biscotti I've ever made. They are nice and dry and crunchy the way real biscotti should be - they are not cookie-like like many you buy in the store these days. They are perfect for dipping, they have a long shelf-life, they are delicious and flavorful. My toddler LOVES them and even asks for them before bed with a cup of milk for dipping. Another great recipe from Alice Medrich.

Marge Pahmahmie was well know for her fry bread in Horton Kansas. She use to make dishpan's of dough for many of the Indian functions! This is a smaller version of her recipe, for 5 or 6 rounds of bread.

This is my favorite home baked bread recipe. I got it from an Amish cookbook years ago and no other bread recipe I have tried beats it. It is a standard in our house with beef stew.

These yeast biscuits do not have to rise. I got this recipe from my wonderful mother-in-law many years ago. I wish she was still here to enjoy them with me.

This doesnt taste exactly like arabian pita, but it is close. So quick and easy, and tastes better with arabian dishes (hummous, falafel, shawerma, etc). I make it when i can't get arabian pita, great with "fooll muddames" as well. This is my Mom's recipe.

First, don't let the long list of instructions turn you away . . . it's very simple! This is my version of Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day (by Jeff Hertzberg and Zoe Francois), a revolutionary approach to bread baking. Actually it's a combination of Five Minute Bread and Cook's Illustrated Recipe #290761. Perfect answer to a busy life . . mix once and store in the refrigerator. (See list below of other uses for this recipe). When you're ready to bake take out the amount of pre-mixed dough needed and store the rest in the refrigerator for up to 10 days. The flavor will be similar to sourdough, developing more intensely over the days of storage. Preparation time indicated does not include pre-fermentation time, which can vary from 3 hours to 10 days. Special equipment needed: Large (5 - 6 qt.) plastic container with lid (not air tight) and a baking stone or a 5 qt. dutch oven (depending on your choice of baking methods). I've found that it's best to line a basket or bowl with parchment paper; let the bread rise, and then back in a preheated dutch oven. Note that the beer used in this recipe must be a lager; DO NOT USE AN ALE as they use a different type of fermentation. Do not use glass jars with screw tops (they could explode from the trapped gases).Lidded plastic buckets designed for dough storage are readily available -- I purchased mine through King Arthur Flour. Step by easy step recipe for a Native American all-purpose flat bread dating back to the nineteenth century. Fry bread is considered a food of inter-tribal unity and is made at all Indian pow wows. It has a crispy outside and a chewy inside. Serve with butter & honey, powdered sugar, or cinnamon & sugar. Or add 'taco' ingredients to the top to make an Indian taco bread salad. You can also fill these with anything then fold them up to eat. Or simply serve plain with soup, stew, etc. *EDITED TO ADD: This is an old recipe and I know many of us no longer use so much salt - if that's the case for you then I suggest REDUCING THE SALT BY HALF.

Found this recipe on the internet and made it last night for dinner. It is the best bread I have made since I got my bread machine. Crusty, light inside and absolutely delicious!

This was in a United Emire LOyalist Cookbook with a note that it was originally from a 20th century cookbook from 1906. It is much more powerful than any you buy. Good in a pinch if you are out and happen to have the other ingredients on hand.

Found this years ago in the food section of our local paper (San Jose Mercury News). Very good biscuits.

We don't use plain cinnamon in our house since we have found this. We love it and think you will also.

Why compromise the banana flavor? My banana bread is moist and delicious with loads of banana flavor! Ultimate comfort food, and it's WONDERFUL TOASTED!! (Make sure to use bananas with a lot of black on them for the best flavor! The blacker the bananas, the stronger the banana flavor of the bread.)

    Recipe #25885

This is a good way to use up those ripe bananas. Recipe from Betty Crocker.

    Recipe #274521

A very tasty banana cake. The recipe comes from the New York Times.

    Recipe #53499

This goes well with any crepes or you can use this with Recipe #209247. Cook time is an estimate.
