I love the ratio book. It demystifies and opens creativity. Four BATTER VARIATIONS: Herbed: add 1 tsp chopped fresh parley and 1 tsp chopped fresh chives. Espresso: add 2 tsp instant espresso powder Buckwheat: omit 2/3 flour and add 2/3 buckwheat flour Cinnamon: add 1 tsp ground cinnamon

    For the Wonderful Dressing

    Recipe #451678

From the cream horn mold box. The option is to buy the frozen dough, which if you don't have time, you might want to do based on the long refrigeration time between steps!!!!

Broccoli hidden in a cheesy muffin

    Recipe #451798

From 16 Magazine when I was a teen. Using weight ratio is actually more foolproof as eggs vary so much.

    Recipe #452025

Another one found in my great banana recipe search.

    Recipe #452395

I found this recipe on texascooking.com. I altered it a bit to use half whole wheat, and found the dough too dry, so upped the oil content. I also use a press instead of rolling them out--far easier. These are soft, chewy, and delicious. Perfect for gorditas or fajitas, though we usually just eat them out of hand. I cook mine on my griddle, since it tolerates being heated for a long period with no oil on it. If you like large tortillas, you can divide the dough to fewer balls.

This naan is from the New Vegetarian Epicure. With just four ingredients and no yeast, it is simple to mix up, but it is so soft and flavorful I figured I'd add it to the many recipes already posted. Prep time does not include 1 hour of "resting."

I have always loved pecan waffles and Emeril's version fits the bill. If I don't have pecans, I substitute ground oatmeal, which is great, too.

Serve as a side, snack or appetizer. Savory, smoky and slightly sweet - plus only 30 minutes start to finish! From my local newspaper which always publishes the greatest recipes! *Chipotle peppers are dried, smoked jalapeño peppers. The ground chipotle used in this recipe can be found in the Mexican/Spanish food section of your supermarket - or possibly in the spice section. This would make a great vegetarian meal served with black bean soup, coleslaw or crusty whole-grain bread.

This is from All Saints Episcopal Church, West Plains, MO, 100th Anniversary version of Burnt Offerings. It was submitted by Mildred Tuthill.

Taken from The James Beard Cook Book, 1961 copy. I prepare this recipe every time I do a prime rib roast, always with excellent results.

From me own lazy Irish grandmother who died at 100 years plus one day old on Saint Patricks Day back in 1968. I love the way it smells while baking. If you don't like the smell of beer, stay away from it. I also like that you can add it to an oven being used to make something else like a chicken etc. If the other item being baked or roasted requires 325F, just add an extra 10 minu

    My recipe for chapati flatbread.

    Recipe #408311

This is a classic recipe from Julia Child. It's great for when it's too hot to crank up the oven as this recipe uses a griddle or frying pan to cook. You will need cookie cutter rings or tuna cans with the lids and bottom removed, 3 inches (8 cm) in diameter to shape the muffins.

    Recipe #382387

A wonderful tropical flavoured muffin that is not so sweet and full of stuff that's good for you, great for sneaking fruits and veggies into your kids :) Created for RSC #8

These muffins go well with soup for an easy meal, or make mini ones and serve as finger food.

    Recipe #29294

This recipe is from a cookbook that says that the pancakes are like the ones from the International House of Pancakes (IHOP). I've never had banana nut pancakes from there but I liked the taste of these (even though I didn't make the banana syrup).

    Recipe #61385

This is a wonderful yeast bread made in the bread machine, from a great Cookbook named "Best Bread Machine Cookbook Ever" by Madge Rosenberg. It's filled with fantastic things like sour cream, raisins and bananas. Instructions are included for both the large loaf (1 1/2 pounds), and the small loaf (1 pound). Both of these are exceptional! Note: servings vary so I'm just guesstomating.
