This mix will help make your bread raise higher and have a better texture. It should also help your bread stay fresher a little longer. It won't change the taste of your bread, but it will make your bread lighter. Try it!

Recipe #395157

I worked on this recipe for years- I wanted a good tasting sandwich bread with the nutrition of barley, one that would be very moist and keep well. I must have done it because so many people have told me that this is the best bread that they have ever eaten! And to top that, I won a blue ribbin and best of division award at the fair this year (2010). I admit that it is a little more work with the extra step of cooking the barley, but if you do as I do and do it in 3 steps when you have time- it fits into anyones schedule! Another bonus is that the dough makes killer hamburger buns as well as dinner rolls. My husband loves it when I make individual sized loafs so he can have a whole loaf to himself!!!! (For a video series on how to make this bread, go to you tube, Baking Whole Barley Bread video: Thanks!)

Eat this flavorful bread while it's fresh from the oven and imagine you're sitting under the warm Grecian sun. From the Panera Bread Cookbook.

Spread the love. A friend of mine uses this recipe with a white flour and corn masa mix instead of the white/wheat mix below and it's delicious. It's also suggested that you double (or triple) the recipe and freeze either the dough or the prepared tortillas. I will never buy tortillas again.

These are SO yummy with spaghetti, or as an accompaniment to a soup like minestrone for a light meal. They take a little more time than I usually like to for a side, but they are well worth it!!

Recipe #202907

This wonderfuly satisfying bread recipe was in the monthly magazine that Raley's sends out. I wanted to get it into the cookbook before I lost it. I made mine into 2 small loaf shapes and baked in my pre-heated clay pot.

Recipe #278594

A traditional style baguette de Campagne - rustic French bread, which is easy to make and has lots of body - it is NOT like the usual light, supermarket produced baguettes of today. This bread can be started off in a bread machine if you wish. Marianne is the national symbol of France; she personifies Liberty, Reason & the Triumph of the Republic. She appears on stamps, government forms, town halls, law courts and the former French franc coins & banknotes; she even appears on high quality Label Rouge Baguettes and Pain!! Therefore, I have called this homemade French Bread/Baguette recipe after seems only right and proper!

I found a recipe on the internet and substituted and added different ingredients to make a white hamburger bun recipe 100% whole wheat and healthy. I have been making them for years and my family and friends just love these buns! Never will I buy buns again! As with any bread machine recipe, add flour and/or water as needed. You can add other ingredients such as dried onion flakes, ground flax seed or whatever. Sometimes after cooling I wrap and freeze them and defrost as needed. I hope you will love this recipe as much as I do! Also, this recipe also makes great dinner rolls. Just divide dough into 12 to 24 balls, depending on the size of roll you want.

This is an attempt to immitate the excellent bread that is served in the Macaroni Grill Restaurant.

Recipe #64446

Wonderful "Old World" onion bread reminiscent of a Jewish delicatessen. A little bit of work, but worth it! You won't find bread like this in any store.

Recipe #27326

The mashed potatoes make these rolls light as a feather. They are easy because you don't have to knead them and you can make them up to a day before you need them--baking them right before you want to serve them. Perfect for your big holiday dinners.

I love this recipe! I got it out of Home Cooking magazine about 5 years ago. They come out perfect!

From an old TOH. I love these rolls. The dough is very easy to work with and they freeze well. Cook time includes rise time.

Recipe #150603

This recipe is from the restaurant in Salt Lake City called Lion House Pantry. They are famous for their food, but especially for these rolls. They sell these rolls to take home for $6 dollars a dozen! These rolls are incredible and Lion House doesn't seem to mind to share their recipe with everyone. They have a new cookbook that just came out called "Lion House Classics".

Recipe #103547

I found this recipe on another website, tried it and loved it! It was submitted by Aronna Palmer and she says it is an authentic French recipe. Either way, it is FABULOUS!! I hope you love it as much as we did!

Recipe #129943

These muffins remind me of the potato rolls you get at Portugese bakeries. Really good with soups as well as for snacks.

Recipe #143622

This recipe came with my Kitchen Aid mixer, and makes two absolutely beautiful loaves of French Bread. I misplaced my recipe book and recently found it again, so am adding this recipe to Zaar for safe-keeping! Make sure you use a very, very sharp knife to make the diagonal slashes. This bread is delicious on its own, for sopping up stew or soup broth, and with your favorite cheeses or toppings. Prep time specified includes rising time.

This is the perfect road food, fisherman's lunch, school lunch bread, breakfast ... I can't be without this recipe, given to me long ago by a friend. It definitely does not need butter -- just slice and eat. Please note that this does not pretend to be a low-fat recipe! It is meant for long days away from home, when one slice means sustenance.
