this is great to hang outside for the birds...if you can keep the squirrels away..I like to make and give this as gifts to my friends..always a hit..you will need to save the mesh bags, like onions or potato bags for this recipe..you may use other dried fruit that raisins..

Human's question: "Polly wanna cracker?" - Polly's answer: "No, you can keep your silly crackers, I'll have these instead!"

    Recipe #26358

I made this up based on a doggie biscuit recipe. It makes lots and lots of cookies but they freeze well so keep some in your freezer! Yield is a guess because I forgot to count them before.

    Recipe #107790

These are an excellent staple to have; when you need a quick treat, just defrost a few of these balls. Aside from softening the sweet potato in the microwave, this recipe does not require you to do any cooking at all. It's a relatively simple recipe you can make that will provide with a big batch of treats that freeze well. The fresh fruits and/or vegetables are especially nutritious for your bird, and the cereal give the balls a pleasant crunch. Times and yield are approximate.

    Recipe #96409

Have given lots of these to neighbors and friends at holidays..they are always appreciated.

    Recipe #118848

As editor of a local animal shelter's newsletter, I have added one recipe per issue of various animal recipes. With this one, my cockatiel, Girly, feels like a Starbuck's patron with her very own biscotti! I draw the line at a frappuccino, though. Caffeine and chocolate are among many birdie NO-NOs! NOTE: Time does not include waiting for egg shells to dry or cooling after baking. Cooking time is PER BATCH. *Wheat grass for birds can be purchased online at http://www.naturechest.com/wheatgrass.html.
