Laban (known as Le babeurre in French & buttermilk in English) is an important staple in the diet of many North African & Middle Eastern countries. These days it is incredibly simple to go to the store & buy it but if you cannot find it or just want to have a go at making it, then this is a great recipe. This is the traditional method of making laben, for a truly authentic taste use milk straight from the farm. If you can't get milk that fresh, regular full fat milk from the store is fine. You will need a 2 things to make the laben with (other than the ingredients!) 1st: A pot to store the milk in whilst it's 'sitting' - traditionally we use a large clay pot but any pot or pan large enough should do. 2nd: You will need a large bottle, like the kind get water in - with a capacity of around 6 litres if making the full amount of the recipe. The amounts in this recipe can easily be adjusted to allow you to make more or less laben.

    Recipe #387190

A Quick and Easy twist on Horchata (Mexican Rice Milk) and Smoothies. It makes a nice creamy drink that is perfect for breakfast or as a sweet treat poured over ice on warm day. (I shortcut this recipe by using my recipe for vanilla yogurt. Also equally yummy adjusted fat free/sugar free)

    Recipe #67261

Spice this up even further by adding 1 teaspoon each nutmeg and allspice, and 1/4 teaspoon white pepper. You may choose to omit the French vanilla creamer, and use 2 teaspoons vanilla extract instead. To do so, mix the vanilla into the sugar, let it dry, then break the sugar into small lumps. Follow the same procedure as above. A quick, but very appreciative THANK YOU to the reviewers who aren't receiving zmail!

    Recipe #130883

My high school best friend and I used to take a trip to the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, TN area every year when I was in college. One year, we went three times! Her parents owned a timeshare and we could stay anywhere. Greenbrier Lodge was one of the places on our list of really nice places for us to stay. When we visited Thanksgiving weekend (Yes, we got up on Friday morning and drove down there to hit all the Christmas outlet day after sales and LOADED UP!!), they had afternoon treats in the lobby. There were all kinds of neat nibbles, some warm punch and this! Shocking, because I would've figured it a summertime treat, but the lady putting the food out said this was requested year-round. And it sure was good! Serving size is based on how much your glass will hold!

    Recipe #243457

Fast and easy to make, this drink is great for any time of year. Fizzy Strawberry Lemonade can be made by subbing 1 10 ounce package of partially thawed frozen strawberries for the frozen raspberries. Prepare as directed in the recipe.

    Recipe #87176

We love keeping this on hand for the cold nights and when company comes over. You can even leave the alcohol out for the kids. My daughter loves it for a treat.

    Recipe #13267

Perfect! Keep the mix in the freezer for up to a month. You adjust the spice amounts to your liking. I recommend fresh nutmeg right from the "nut". Cook time is freeze time.

    Recipe #148864

We've been taking this on hunting trips since we were first married. It's different than any others I've ever seen, because we don't like the cinnamon and allspice, etc. that other batters have. This is like smooooooth caramel! We like it with bourbon, but you could use rum, or even hot tea, I suppose! This keeps in the freezer for several months. Servings are a guess.

This'll relax you on a cold winter's night!!! Gooood!!!!

    Recipe #17059

    I have not tried this yet. If you ask me the longest prep part of this recipe may be getting the Champagne bottle open. ;-}

    Recipe #171862

My Mother always made this at Christmas and I have kept on the tradition. When my husband and I got divorced , this recipe was one of the things he asked for ( naturally I didn't give it to him- it is a secret family recipe-lol)I don't care for the taste of alcohol but love this recipe. It is VERY thick and people almost lick the glass after drinking it.

    Recipe #78681

    Not too sweet party punch.
