My mother made this punch for many parties when we were growing up. She served it in her lovely, big punch bowl and I remember stirring it with the big glass spoon. My sisters and I weren't allowed to have any of it (as it contained alcohol) but I remember the lovely "clouds" of sherbet that floated on top. Now that my sisters and I are much older, we always have this punch at our holiday gatherings.
I got this recipe from a friend I used to work with - I first made it to bring to a Christmas party at a friend's house, and everyone was amazed when they found out it wasn't Bailey's. If you can't find pasteurized eggs, the appropriate amount of Egg Beaters makes a great substitute.
Mix this up in the morning before you leave for work. When you get home in the evening, take it from the freezer and let it thaw slightly while you change clothes or start dinner. Especially refreshing on hot summer evenings.
Wonderfully refreshing!!! No tex-Mex feast would be complete without a pitcher of this traditional red-wine thirst quencher with citrus. Prep time does not include chilling. Adapted from Ladies Home Journal.
This is an eggless version of Irish Cream Liqueur which uses Rye whiskey. I would think you could substitute your favorite whiskey (Scotch, Bourbon or Irish) for the rye if you prefer.
Recipe makes 38oz = 1123.79ml
A serving size is 1.3oz (37ml) = 29.23 servings per recipe
I adopted this recipe and have not yet tried it. The original chef's comments are as follows: "I found this recipe years ago and make it for every baby/bridal shower I throw. Always a hit and so incredibly easy to make. Leave out the champagne for a lovely non-alcoholic punch as well. Enjoy!!"
This is a light, fluffy Egg Nog drink that we serve for any occasion, not just Holidays. It's easy to make, and my friends all request it, your friends will think you are wonderful for making home-made! I recommend using Kittencal's recipe #93063 for home made vanilla, quite yummy! Can be made with or without the liquor. This is from the Company's Coming cookbook.
