One of the first questions I asked on this site was for homemade V-8 juice. Have been constantly looking until the other day at the dentist office when the assistant gave me her mother's recipe. Wow!, so simple and so good.07/19/08: UPDATE! I made a large pitcher-full today and added about 11/2 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce for an added kick. The guys really liked it! Me?....still like the original best. 09/16/08: ANOTHER UPDATE: I have now had two different members point out to me that the former name of this name of this recipe, Homemade V-8 Juice, is a poor choice as it is not homemade.......and I agree, thus the new name.
I've been making this punch for years. I wish I had a dollar for every time someone asks for the receipe and then thinks that I'm truly keeping it a secret because they cant believe it only has 2 ingredients. It is the easiest, most light and refreshing compliment to any shower, tea or party gathering. It's beautiful looking too and matches any theme or color. You can make it for a few people up to 100's and still, it is a money friendly punch because it has only 2 ingredients. But don't let the 'only 2' ingredients fool you. It's delicious! (Some people say it reminds them of champagne.) Kid friendly, teen friendly, adult friendly. Enjoy!
The ice cream will melt in the punch and turn it into a baby blue colour leaving frothy blue and white clouds floating on top --- this should serve around 20 people but of coarse it will depend on the size of glasses used --- this punch may be prepared slightly in advance with the top covered tightly with plastic wrap so that the 7-Up will not loose it's bubbles, add in scoops of ice cream before serving --- for a pink punch see my recipe#125733
I found this recipe in Good Housekeeping magazine -- I love cappuccino, but don't have it a lot during hot summer weather, so when I saw this recipe I had to try it. It's refreshing, delicious, and a drink I've made many times again. (I have listed the time for making and chilling the coffee as the preparation time, although I usually make a potful of double-strength coffee in the evening and keep it in the fridge. It can be stored for up to 2 days.)
Posted in response to a request for pastel blue punch on the boards a long while back, I figured I should probably go ahead and post this one officially so the recipe wouldn't get lost. Pink punch is easy enough to make, for little girls, but blue is a bit more elusive. :)
This make about 12 cups of a blue kid friendly slimy drink, which makes it perfect for a children's Halloween party or any children's party --- you might want to give this a try using different flavors of gelatin powder :)
The 'Perfect Summer Drink.' The mint makes it refreshing and the gin makes it dangerous to have more than...well, never mind-you can never have too much! :-)
This is my Mother's recipe, straight from Kentucky; her notes say, "just as good without the gin", but don't you believe it!
The Baptist college I attended my freshman year had a special program where students from Brazil could come and study through a missions program. This is a recipe from Carolina, one of my best girlfriends. I love it because it's different from other limeade.
