This fruit salad is amazing, and there is NO ADDED sugar to the syrup because it's made with 100% pure apple juice. The colors of the strawberries, blueberries and mangoes together are absolutely beautiful. This is now my new signature "summer" dish that people ask me to bring to picnics and cook outs. I found this in Vegetarian times. It was mentioned that the vanilla apple syrup alone can be used as a sweetener for plain yogurt, iced tea or cocktails, in place of simple syrup made with sugar.

    Recipe #239132

This is the simplest dish to put together, and it's gotten TONS of great compliments every time it's been brought to a party. I like this because it takes NO TIME to prepare, does not require the use of a stove or oven, and it can stay nice an warm through the whole party in the crock pot! This was adapted from a recipe in one of my mother's crock pot cookbooks. I have use a small palmful of dried onion in place of the green onion as well.

    Recipe #241251

I grew "Golden Boy" tomatoes in my garden this year. If you are not familiar with that variety, they are wonderfully sweet and are an amazing shade of orangey-yellow! I threw this dish together one night all from bits and pieces I had leftover in the fridge. I toasted the bread plain, but feel free to grill ot toast it with a little olive oil and garlic. Also, shredded fresh basil leaves would be a nice addition as well.

    Recipe #250718

This is a lovely, refreshing salad that has a little "kick" to it! AND the contrast of colors between the carrots and cucumbers is really amazing. This salad comes from the Whole Foods Market website.

    Recipe #109469

My wonderful sister-in-law, Taryn, has aptly named this recipe FOR me, after a pizza she had at Pizzaria Uno. This recipe is actually the lasagna I put together for my family's Christmas Eve Dinner in 2004. Please feel free to use "no-boil" lasagna noodles if you prefer. This recipe works with both kinds, just be sure to add a bit more tomato sauce for the no-boil.

    Recipe #113508

I love to find new and interesting vegetarian pasta dishes. The carmelized roasted vegetables in this dish add a really nice depth of flavor. This is a variation of a recipe I saw made on Giada DeLaurentis' "Every Day Italian". I like to try and use whole wheat pasta whenever I can in most of my pasta dishes. Not a BIG fan of zucchini, so I decided to substitute broccoli instead, cuz I LOVE it sooo much!. I also roasted a head of garlic in with the veggies, but that, of course, is optional. The original recipe added the cherry tomatoes in, UNROASTED, at the end. I did not read carefully enough, and roasted them right in the pan with everything else. They ended up being just fine roasted, but you may do either way. I catagorized this recipe under "vegan", but left in the grated cheese in as an option!

    Recipe #114098

This is a great meatless substitute for the seasoned ground beef you find in many Mexican recipes. I use this over nachos, or as a filling for tacos, burritos, or enchiladas. Because of the wonderful spices in the mixture, I find that alot of my favorite "meat-eaters" really don't miss the ground beef at all!! ; >

    Recipe #121414

This recipe is perfect for seasoning 1 lb of ground beef, or the equivalent of 1 lb of vegetarian "ground beef" I prefer this to the packages the sell at the supermarkets which often contain too much sodium. This mixture is also nice mixed with 16 oz of sour cream to serve with tortilla chips, or to top a layered Mexican dip.

    Recipe #121415

Another simple and flavorful way to serve mashed potatoes.

    Recipe #124976

I was looking for something different to do with broccoli, and I found this quick and easy recipe from 30 Minute Meals. I don't own "grill seasoning blend" so I used a mix of salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, thyme and rosemary.

    Recipe #130319

I was quite surprised how wonderful these turned out! Obviously, I would never try to fool anyone that these were actual MEAT, but I think this is a wonderful meatless substitution to the old Italian favorite. These "meat" balls are great served over spaghetti in your favorite tomato sauce. And taste even better leftover the next day.

    Recipe #130975

My girlfriend Lauren LOVES this recipe so much that I simply HAD to add it to my ever-growing list of recipes! I saw this on "Everyday Italian" and just had to try it! I made a few adjustments for what was available at the nearby market, but overall, I think this came out amazingly!

    Recipe #138786

This summer, I was given a cookbook called the "125 Best Vegetarian Slow Cooker Recipes" Now that I HAVE a slow cooker, unearthed from my mothers basement, I can actually try all the great recipes in my new book. A torta is a type of layered casserole, somewhat similar to an enchilada, but with out all the rolling.

    Recipe #138788

This salad is SO easy to prepare, and it tastes absolutely wonderful. The creaminess of the goat cheese and cannellini beans goes really well with the saltiness of the olives and artichokes. Feel free to experiment with different ingrediets as well. We've added chickpeas and raw spinach leaves to stretch the salad a bit more. This salad goes great with grilled whole wheat pita bread

    Recipe #150114

These cookies were amazing. They are a nut lovers dream come true! We made these for Christmas 2005 and they went over very well.

    Recipe #150126

This is so fast and easy to make. The chipotles add a wonderfully smokey flavor. Feel free to add more or less depending on how hot you like it. Some chopped cilantro might be nice added to this as well.

    Recipe #157846

This simple side dish is a great compliment to fish or steaks. The fresh rosemary and sea salt are just the right seasoning for the crispy potatoes.

    Recipe #157849

I found this recipe in a cookbook given to me for Christmas called "Irish Cooking". The casserole is really simple to make, and it has an almost quiche-like texture to it. The original recipe called for regular cottage cheese, but we actually had FAT FREE on hand. I don't think it took away from the flavor of the dish at all. This dish might also be nice served at brunch or breakfast.

    Recipe #157850

Besides being one of the most amazing movies I've seen in a while, V for Vendetta features the simplest, most CRAVEABLE breakfast dish I think I've ever seen. In the movie, "V", in his jaunty kitchen apron, so lovingly prepares this charming breakfast dish for Natalie Portman's character. By the movie's end, I was craving so badly, that I made it for our breakfast for the next two days!! Please feel free to use ANY bread you have on hand. I also like to make these on my large nonstick griddle, but you can prepare them 1 or 2 at a time using a non-stick frying pan.

    Recipe #162532

This was the pasta dish we had for our Easter dinner this year!
