Our big family dinners just wouldn't be the same without Grammy's special pie for dessert.

    Recipe #249893

Spicy butter adds instant flavour to grilled salmon. This is a clipping from a decade old magazine. **Edit June 24/07 - after reading some of the reviews I had to revisit this recipe and try it grilled and it IS so much better that way. Add a little bit of garlic powder and salt & pepper to it first then grill about 5 to 6 minutes per side (Depending on how thick it is) Thanks for the tips - this has made a good recipe great :)

    Recipe #235029

Mmmm - this is yummy and a wonderful one dish meal for company or any old time. Serve with a crunch baguette and Crisp Pinot Grigio. US Barefoot is a very nice one with a very decent price. This recipe is from Taste magazine which is put out by various Liquor Distributors. April 2008 **I tried using a peppered goats cheese instead of the ricotta and much preferred it that way.

    Recipe #230905

Seems like most spinach salad recipes have a bit of a sweet twist to them. Couldn't find one without that so decided to create my own. This has been a family and friend favourite ever since. We often serve it with large garlic butter prawns or seasoned chicken breasts and an 8 grain baquette. Some people can't do the onion so I often leave that off and add a bit more radish for texture and flavour

    Recipe #203492

This is a great recipe for when a light flavourful meal is what you want. It's quick & easy enough for weekday meals and nice enough for company. It's a recipe I adapted from one found in the Costco Connection by Karen MacNeil.

    Recipe #226965

Simple but tasty - great for a bbq **Update May2008 - if you don't have orange vinegar, do follow Andi of LongMeadow Farms excellent suggestion of making your own by just adding 1 tablespoon of fresh orange juice, fresh orange zest earlier in the day to a white vinegar. I actually prefer the zing of her version over store bought. Thanks Andi!

    Recipe #228070

Vodka is the perfect spirit for experimentation and handy for quick & interesting cocktails or just serve neat. My son the Mixology student shared these with me. This infusion is wonderfully refreshing in summer coolers and minimalist martini's.

    Recipe #230682

Another refreshing drink from my son the Mixologist. It's a little sour but balances nicely off the sweetness of the berry. The Northwest is known for growing large yummy blueberries so look for this drink late in the summer if you want to use fresh berries as a garnish.

    Recipe #230811

Salmon is a staple in the Pacific Northwest and this simple meal is perfect for special company or a nice Sunday family dinner. For the perfect spring time dinner party, accompany with Mushroom and Wild Rice Pilaf, Stir-Fried Asparagus & Sugar Snap Peas and Strawberry, Goat Cheese and Pine Nut Salad. These recipes are adapted from a magazine called Taste which is put out be various alcohol distributors. Needless to say - serve this witha well chilled Chardonnay or Pinto Grigio. BTW - there's a lovely new US Pinot Grigio out that's crisp & refreshing with overtones of citrus & green apple. Very good price point too. It's Barefoot Pinot Grigio.

    Recipe #230884

This dish dresses up a dinner party plate. Goes nicely with Pacific Northwest Poached Salmon in White Wine Bouillon. This recipe is from Taste Magazine which is put out by various Liquor Distributors.

    Recipe #230887

Nice bright crunchy side dish that goes well with Pacific Northwest Poached Salmon in White Wine Bouillon. This recipe is from Taste magazine which is put out by various Liquor Distributors.

    Recipe #230902

Attractive salad with a mix of textures which I've adapted from Taste magazine which is put out by a variety of Liquor Distributors. Goes well with Pacific Northwest Poached Salmon in white Wine Bouillon **I've found I prefer using lemon juice instead of orange juice with this recipe. If you prefer tart over sweet, you may too. And I can take or leave the Endive

    Recipe #230904

Every year Tom the Turkey's stuffing mixture is a little bit different - it all depends on what's in the cupboards that might be fun to throw in. The basic Mexican inspired mix stays the same though.

    Recipe #235274

This dish is wonderful done on the grill. It was inspired by the wonderful ingrediants found across the world in ZWT III. Serve with a crispy green salad (try Easy (Mostly Traditional) Caeser Salad for something different; and a crusty baquette. **Cooking time includes marinading time.

    Recipe #239722

Another white sauce based cheese sauce kicked up a notch

    Recipe #247636

This is a tasty little cookie, easy to prepare, by the Canadian Living Test Kitchen. It uses SPLENDA brand, (sugar replacement) brown sugar blend. You can replace this with double the amount of regular brown sugar. **Preparation time includes 30 minute chill time before baking

    Recipe #269720

I married a wonderful man of Ukrainian ancestry who frequently requests scalloped potatoes and ham. I like food with a bit of flavour and spice so find the usual recipes sort of bland. Decided if I had to make them, they were going to have to be kicked up a notch. So this is it - my version - hope you enjoy it. * if you don't like it as spicy, reduce the cayenne and chili pepper to 1/2 tsp each. Also, asiago or parmesan cheese can be used in place of the romano.

    Recipe #294150

A lovely & refreshing vodka cocktail from West's Restaurant i& Bar in Vancouver, BC Canada. This recipe was shared in Taste Magazine

    Recipe #300059

Versatile & tasty topping for crab cakes, prawns or chicken. Don't make too much ahead of serving as the cilantro flavour will get quite intense.

    Recipe #300084

Easy and tasty recipe. Original came from the Pillsbury SlowCooker Book. I've slightly modified it to suit our tastes. This isn't overly hot but has some nice bit of spice flavour. For added kick, you could add one tsp of dried chili peppers. **May9, 2008 - it appears not all slowcookers are the same so I have made a small adjustment with the addition of water to the recipe. My cooker doesn't require this but it appears to be a minority! So give it a whirl and then adjust recipe to suit yours.
