A co-worker shared this recipe with me along with several packages of venison. This recipe works well with beef, pork, veal or other wild game (elk, buffalo, etc) in place of the venison.
This dish is so easy to prepare, yet tastes like a four star restuarant dinner. Dig out the good china and candlesticks for this one!
I got this recipe from a Weight Watcher's meeting, and found these very tasty. This recipe is low in fat and calories. I also tried 1 box of cake mix with a cherry lite pie topping - very tasty. My kids loved both muffins. (for Weight Watchers: each muffin is only 2 points.)
An easy to throw together loaf that makes use of crescent roll dough. Adapted from "Country Woman" magazine. Prep time allows for the peeling and chopping of the apples, but also plan on additional cooling time between the baking of the bread and drizzling the icing.
Because of the contrast between the tart cranberries and sugary coating, the flavor of this snack pops in your mouth. The berries are steeped in hot sugar syrup to tame their tangy bite. When entertaining, serve these in place of nuts. For gift-giving, package in parchment-lined tins. Present with a small bottle of the reserved cranberry cooking syrup for the recipient to use as a cocktail mixer. If you can't find superfine sugar, make your own by processing granulated sugar in a food processor for a minute
This makes an excellent gift. Make sure you make some for yourself too though because it really smells wonderful. Please note, you need to use whole cloves. Ground cloves are much stronger and will definitely overwhelm the other scents. If you aren't a fan of cloves, feel free to leave them out entirely. I do sometimes.
This is a recipe I found on www.stiltoncheese.com I haven't tried it, but thought to myself if I don't save it here I'll forget about it or it'll disappear into the internet aether. Its a recipe served at the Hurricane Restaurant, in Ogunquit, Maine. Because its best when chilled overnight it's perfect if you want something that you can prepare in advance.
