Oh, you HAVE to try this one!! My family LOVES dips and spreads, and even the guys got really into this one. I even caught my uncle (who thinks guys are too "macho" for dips), eating it straight from the bowl with a spoon!! Best when made day of, and lettuce added just before serving. It gets soggy:(
Make certain that the cheese sticks are very well coated with the egg/water mix and the cereal coating, or the cheese will flow out when baking, also let the cheese sticks sit out for 30 minutes to dry out the outer crumb coating before baking, the cornflakes must be very finely crushed or they will not adhear to the sticks, these steps are very important --- prep time includes drying out for 30 minutes.
These are superb with soups and salads or as a simple appetizer. Try experimenting with other toppings such as grated parmesan cheese or grated lemon rind. Taken from the Family Circle Cookbook.
The easiest way to apply the egg mixture is if you spoon some in the middle and then use a pastry brush to spread it to the edges of the chip...enjoy!
These have been a long time family favorite, use only dry breadcrumbs for this as fresh will not stick to the zucchini, the cayenne is only optional add in for some heat --- if desired you may slice the zucchini into rounds instead if sticks--- also see my recipe#244592
From Taste of Home magazine, these onion rings were delicious served with grilled hamburgers. They had just the right amount of spices to suit my family's tastes. Of course, you can add in additional spices if you would like them with more heat. The prep time includes the time to soak the onion rings.
A delicious poolside snack - or a great accompaniment for a barbecue. These tangy onion rings are delicious served with the spicy lime dip. I have also used low-fat mayonnaise, in an attempt to lighten the calories!
Chef's hat off to my 10 year old DS. While making brushetta for a neighbor's BBQ I found I still had quite a bit of french baguette bread left and my little Chef in the making came up with this recipe. Funny thing was that the guests scarfed up his recipe faster than my brushetta. Very kid friendly recipe and the adults raved too. You probably could add some pizza sauce too, but I had none and it didn't seem to matter. If you try these, please write a review as I have a very anxious DS waiting to read them :)
A slightly "mock" rendition of White Castles sliders, but we think only better. Great "kid" sized burgers or even better for "adult" sized snacks! NOTE: since posting this recipe I have found out that Pepperidge Farm no longer makes the small rolls in the pans so therefore use your own disgression on which rolls are available to you but I do suggest that you use a small size like a dinner roll in order to get the full "White Castle" affect!
I love onion rings but try to stay away from deep fried foods. These are exceptionally good. This recipe serves 4 but I'll bet 2 can go through the lot of them. This is not my original recipe and I can't remember who to give credit to, but thanks to someone. enjoy!Try using Panko Crumbs- Don't worry if they are not completed coate the crunch will still be there
