This is a technique I came up with quite accidentally and it's not so much the ingredients listed below that matter but the technique that gives a quick way to cook mushrooms on a barbecue or in a pan that have that nice moist texture throughout just like they were slowly cooked in an oven. I'm sure all the lovely stuffed garlic mushroom recipes on 'zaar will work well this way!

This is a yummy favourite of mine to serve as part of pre-dinner munchies, or as a snack to a group of friends (it also doubles well). I found it many years ago in Out of This World CookBook II. Credit for the recipe goes to Virginia Prentice.

If you love extreme flavors then you will love this easy recipe for tapenade! This takes minutes to make but the mixture will need to chill for a minumum of 6 hours before using, it will keep well chilled for up to 3 days! Serve the tapenade on toasted garlic-rubbed crostini, your guests will be clammering for more lol!

    Recipe #195202

Delicious and addictive! Serve with cheese or as an after-dinner nibble. Recipe from Lucy Waverman.

    Recipe #169977

This is a really delicious dip, why is it called Dick's Dip??? I have no idea! For some reason my Mom always makes it at Christmas, but I make it for any get together or party. It is simple and quick, and is always a hit.

    Recipe #181547

This is Chef Wesley Edwards's original, runny butter tart recipe. Use a nonstick muffin tin for ease of removal, otherwise butter the tins. Freezing butter tarts for 5 minutes after cooling makes removal from the tins easier. A Canadian tradition at it's best!

    Recipe #193619

You can prepare 2 different tastes from 1 filling, which means you can please both vegetarians and seafood lovers at the same time. These tarts should be frozen if you are packaging them as they are fragile. They should also be refrigerated if not eaten right away. A great partner for a well-balanced dry white wine. Cheesecakes can be refrigerated for up to 2 days or frozen. Recipe created by Chef Jill Snider of Ontario.

    Recipe #193708

Add sparkle to your dinner party with these make-ahead appetizers - an explosion of flavour and very little last-minute work. Refrigerate or freeze the raw firecrackers right on the baking sheet and bake at the last minute for the best texture. If freezer space and baking sheets are at a premium, freeze until firm and carefully stack between layers of waxed paper in an airtight container. Recipe by Chef Jennifer MacKenzie for Food and Drink Magazine.

These are easy to make you can do the wonton wraps the day or so ahead and have the sausage mixture made in advance then just 5 minutes before serving you fill the wraps and pop them in the oven. For a lighter exterior I prefer to use Spring Roll wraps. Use your regular pork breakfast sausage. if you wish use Italian sausage or bratwurst

The food section of our paper did an article about two local chefs who were getting married and made all of the food for their wedding. This is one of the recipes.

These can be a easy appetizer or a light dinner. I received this recipe in an email from the Campbell's site, and after we made these for a tasty dinner, I knew I had to share!

    Recipe #74301

My great grandmother used to make these, and they're a nice little starter for a dinner party. Simple yet nice. Use a thick sauce.

    Recipe #183910

My husband taught me this quick recipe. I don't know where he got the idea, but it's very delicious. Avocado and balsamic vinegar are the new Hollywood couple. Step aside mayo!

This is my most requested recipe for parties. Everyone is always stunned at how simple the ingredients are. If you are serving a large number of people, you may want to double the recipe, I have seen folks stumble over each other to reach the last weenie on the platter!
