You'll find bowls of "Kidney Bean Salad" (it's more of an appetizer or dip, than a salad) served throughout New England at many quaint taverns and pubs, where you can spread it on a cracker and enjoy it along with a cocktail or two. It is positively addictive!!

These are a little healthier than fried wings and they taste better, too. The dipping sauce is fantastic! You can adjust the heat by adding more hot sauce if you like them hotter.

From "Miss Daisy Celebrates Tennessee" cookbook Yield is just a guess, it all depends on how big or small you make the balls. I realize there are A LOT of sausage ball recipes on here, but this one has a combination of ingredients the others don't. These were great for Christmas party finger foods.

I am posting this recipe in memory of my dear friend, Dot, who died in 2008. Dot was a wonderful lady and matriarch of a large and fascinating family. She was also an avid and excellent cook. It didn't matter when you arrived at Dot's home, there was always some freshly made goodie for you to sample. These puffs were just one of her offerings. The yield is a guess, as I forgot to write down what she said. Love you, Dot, and miss you!

You can use these in pasta dishes. Or put them on a platter and supply toothpicks for great appetizers.

Ridiculously addictive appetizers. I brought them to a party and everyone attacked them like starving piranha on a cow. I included them in a tin of cookies for my hubby's co-workers and one of them ate all of them before anyone else could try them. She also demanded the recipe. From the cookbook "Fix, Freeze, Feast" by Katie Neville and Lindsey Tkacsik. Make them ahead of time, keep in your freezer and bake what you need. I plan to have these on hand all the time.
