I'm putting this together for my mom. She's getting a new pool and will need some recipes to go with it. Pic: My lovely DH giving thumbs up for having a cold one at the Lucky Snapper in Florida... enjoy!
Recipe created by Todd Wilbur www.TopSecretRecipes.com. Need a simple cocktail for a hot day when the thought of lemonade makes your mouth water? Try this one. You start crafting this new signature blender drink by making lemon syrup from scratch from lemon juice, sugar and water. Track down some limoncello--an Italian Lemon liqueur--and Smirnoff citrus vodka. Now you're just a press of the blender button away from being refreshed. I borrowed a friend's cookbook entitled Top Secret Restaurant Recipes 2 and wanted to put this recipe here so that I wouldn't lose it.
This came from the little "recipe book" attached to my bottle of Midori. This makes a pitcher of neon-chartreuse-colored cocktails, about six tall drinks on ice. Garnish with a pineapple wedge, but I do always add a tropical paper parasol! And don't tell anyone, but my fiance likes to add an extra shot of Malibu to his glass; and I like an extra shot of Midori.
Yummy Liquid Dessert! The brand liqueurs I used can be changed to what you like or can find in your area. This is sweet and strong. You can use plain white or brown sugar and skip the cracker if you like. Make sure you chill your glasses in the freezer.
When I was a bartender people always commented that I made the best mixed drinks. One of my requested mixed drinks was my version of the Amaretto Sour. My “secret” was the addition of 7-Up which I think gave the drink a gentle fizz that broke up the syrupy sweetness of the drink. I usually made my own sour mix, which was nothing more then Country Time Lemonade (another “secret”) or would mix lemon juice with some granulated sugar -- and shake vigorously. You can also use store bought sour mix.
