ABM Yeast Breads ~ Made and Enjoyed, Again and Again!

My Crazy Mixed-up Swappers swap mate, Pneuma, gifted me with a Sunbeam bread machine in October 2008 ~ I've only bought bread once since! I blame her for my expanded waistline and hips! My favorite bread to date is Bird Seed Bread (Abm) ~

Here is recipe from a Gold Medal cookbook that makes great toast! It makes a 1 1/2# loaf. I would like to thank chef#314327 for their kind review but their zmail is marked private. Hopefully you will see this!

    Recipe #302142

These are chewy, crusty loaves that have all the aroma of a traditional yeast bread, but they don't take all the time. Quick rise yeast shortens proofing time, and smaller pans trim baking time. From Cooking Pleasures magazine. This is great served with Kansas City Steak Soup. This is a rustic bread, originating in Europe(England and France)

    Recipe #135547

Mixed on the dough cycle in my bread maker, then baked in my oven! Prep time includes mixing on the dough cycle, and the approximate time for a second rise before baking.

This is a recipe I found at King Arthur Flour site. Here is what they state about the recipe: This loaf, often known as Canadian Brown Bread, is dark and quite sweet, but pleasingly so; we love it with just a plain pat of butter. Time doesn't include 1 hour or more rising time. Update 2/22/12 - I have now made this recipe and adjusted it according to what I did differently. This is now, an adapted version of King Arthur's recipe, as several of the reviews on their site had problems with the amount of liquid/flour ratio and I changed the type of cocoa and cut the amount of instant coffee.

Just found this recipe and will try it soon. Sounds delicious and is from Quick Cooking. Cook time is according to your bread machine.

    Recipe #99098

Another great recipe from my Care2 network's recipeshare pages. This one is also contributed by Niki C. Sounds delicious!! According to Niki, This Ethiopean Honey Bread is really delicious and a winner at any fair, or home crafts show. Enjoy all!! ;) ***just a note re: yeast since it wouldn't allow me to submit 1 packet for size, Approximately 2 1/4 tsp. equal one 1/4 oz. packet yeast if you are using from a jar.

A very good bread recipe from the Jan/Feb '03 issue of Quick Cooking magazine. Perfect for smaller families since extra loaves freeze well, and a great way to get some whole grain in.

    Recipe #272183

Recipe is from Fleischmann's breadworld.com. Proofing time is included in prep time.

    Recipe #388760

Looking for a different herb bread? You found it! This is a whole wheat-rye-instant potato flakes bread, flavored with chicken bouillon granules, carrots, dried leeks and herbs, with a little sweetness from the optional prunes, or dried cranberries! This is a perfect bread for sandwiches, soups and stews -- Dried leeks was an impulse buy while shopping at a small international market — If dried leeks are unavailable in your area, substitute dried onions, or dried chives in this flavorful bread.

    Recipe #412764

A rye bread made with apple juice, apple butter, cardamom, and toasted walnuts. Can be made as two one-pound loaves, or as one two-pound loaf -- see bake times below! NOTE: I use the automatic bread machine dough cycle only, and bake in my oven, therefore this recipe has not been tried on a complete bread machine bake cycle!

    Recipe #400931

Fragrant orange marmalade rye bread, with toasted walnuts -- for an added punch of flavor, I sometimes add 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon! Make as one two-pound loaf, if you prefer! :) The first time I made this bread, due to a family emergency, I had to pull the dough out of the machine before it heated for the first rise. I refrigerated the dough overnight, and the next day let the dough come to room temperature and rise, punched it down, and shaped it into two loaves to rise again before baking in my oven.

    Recipe #388380

Best mixed in the ABM on the dough cycle only, and baked in your oven. Dried cranberries and toasted pecans in rye bread -- lightly flavored with ground cinnamon and orange oil, or leave them out if you prefer! -- The bread smelled heavenly while baking in my oven! Delicious toasted with cream cheese -- makes great french toast, or equally good for turkey sandwiches! ---- Note: My bread machine does not have an "add beep" so I rough grind the pecans and cranberries in a mini-chopper, so all ingredients can be added to the bread machine all at once!

    Recipe #384163

This is wonderful toasted! "Gluten is the protein component of grain. Gluten flour has had practically all starch removed and is used widely in diatetic breads."

    Recipe #4219

This is a delicious tender loaf with the great taste of chives. It is easy to make because it uses instant potato flakes.

    Recipe #96690

Inspired by Recipe #346734 -- This fragrant tomato onion rye bread is studded with caraway seeds, has a a tender texture and a buttery outside crust. Great for ham and cheese sandwiches with tomato and lettuce; or use the bread for plain old grilled cheese sandwiches. Don't forget the pickles!

This is one of my favorite breads for sandwiches, especially grilled cheese and tomato.

This is a wonderful bread to toast for breakfast or slice a little thicker than normal and use for french toast. This recipe was found on another web site.
