    This is from Paula Deen's show on Food Network. I've made this once and was pleased with the results because it doesn't have ricotta cheese which I've never cared much for. I cut back on the amount of onion in my version, only using one (sted of two as written). Next time, I'm going to use Italian sausage rather than ground beef as the meat. You could probably leave out the meat for a vegetarian version.

    My dh can only eat chicken and turkey. All beef makes him ill, he isn't overly fond of fish. Other meats... well suffice it to say he won't touch. So in viewing my recipes you'll see a plethera of chicken recipes. I'm always striving to find something new. He has 3 response levels to new recipe's 1. I didn't like that (insert reason) 2.     This is a lasagna alternative I found in an old issue of "Canadian Living". It was from an article spotlighting personal chefs and make-ahead dishes. Bake in two 9x9-inch dishes or one very large casserole. CHEF NOTE: After making this several times, I prefer to make the "topping" more cheesy. I reduce flour to 1/4 cup and reduce milk to 2 cups, increasing cheese to a generous 1 cups mozzarella cheese with another half cup or more sprinkled over top.

    I was horrified one night to discover I had misplaced this recipe, and had to go without. So, here it is for safekeeping. Recipe originally from Fine Cooking. Although it claims to serve four, it seems to make an incredible amount. I freeze half of what it makes before baking, to be enjoyed another evening.

    This is one of the first recipes I really "mastered" when I was learning how to cook. My husband got to enjoy this recipe at least twice a month because it was one of the few dishes I knew how to make.
