This recipe is from chef Nora Pouillon, owner of Nora's in Washington, DC, a "certified" organic restaurant and a quite wonderful place to dine. Vegetable stock may be substituted for the chicken broth.

    Recipe #423161

This marinade is sneaky, in that people are initially fooled by the sweet raspberry flavor, then the heat of the Habaneros hits your taste buds like a runaway train. Recommended cuts: Shrimp (2 to 3 hours); poultry breasts (4 to 6 hours) From: Marinades by Jim Tarantino.

Another wonderful marinade for meats. I really like this one on lamb, but it is terrific on pork and poultry, too.

Bon Appétit July 2000 by Bobby Flay (which is weird, b/c I don't usually like his recipes) Note marination time.

    Recipe #332278

Cold outside and nothing is more appealing than a steaming bowl of soup. Add the sweetness of the parsnips with aromatics of leeks and peppery kick of ginger and you have a great light meal or starter.

    Recipe #288330

I found this recipe in Everyday Food and loved it! I'd never used vegetable broth before but thought that it was very good (I used Pacific Foods). This recipe is perfect with whole wheat bread. Very fallish.

    Recipe #79248

Scottish speciality. Similar to one submitted elsewhere by: Institute of Texan Cultures Docent Jerry Calhoun of Clan Colquhoun.

Hey, where's the cream? No, no cream here, only delicious healthy soup. This is a VERY healthy, low calorie soup. My family loves it. I serve it with thick slices of German bread.

Recipe from The Biggest Loser. I haven't tried but wanted to post to not lose. You can form into patties as well as links. I would think after mixing and shaping, these would freeze well. Low sodium & low cal

    Recipe #194082

This is a wonderful vegetarian version of French onion soup (no beef stock), using five different members of the onion family. I always use my Rich Brown Vegetable Stock, but you could use a good canned vegetable stock, and if not part of a vegan meal, enjoy with garlic croutons with melted cheese! Mmmmm!

An elegant looking Italian chicken meal that comes out of your crockpot! Who would have known

    Recipe #277836

I went on a cruise on the Holland America cruiseline and they served a wonderful carrot soup. The seasonings are a little different, and this is from the Down Home with the Neely's cookbook, so you know it's gotta be good!

I hate cauliflower. My cousin had this for dinner one eve, didn't tell me what it was. Now it is a fav! I've forgotten the exact recipe, adjust as needed to your taste. Recipe is quite forgiving. Freezes well!

    Recipe #222600

The taste of onions is superb in this rich and creamy soup! Float the toasted French bread on top with a sprinkling of chives. Fit for a king!

    Recipe #41286

This recipe uses a combination of delicate herbs and mustard to flavour this simple and hearty pot roast.

    Recipe #237944

Your guests will probably say nothing between "What is this?" and "Can I have some more?" It really is that good. Don't be afraid of this amount of basil, the soup just isn't the same without it.

    Recipe #132252

I came up with this recipe so that I could make carrots with roast. I cook my roast in the crock pot, but don't like to cook my veggies with it, as they soak up all of the juice and end up with a terrible flavor. So I kind of came up with my own recipe, and it works great. Now I use this recipe any time I want to have carrots as a side dish with dinner. It goes well with lots of meat dishes, and it's easy to make. If you don't want to mess with peeling and chopping carrots, use baby carrots. I use the same recipe with potatoes, but they don't need to cook as long. If you are making this with roast or any other meat that has made its own broth, you can use that instead of beef broth from the can. I always eyeball this recipe so the measurements are approximations.
