This hot chocolate recipe is unlike any other. It is haunted. But do not be afraid. The little ghost in your cup only wants to share in the chocolately goodness, and he can be eaten too..hehe. This is a great recipe for Halloween. One of my favorites, just because it is so cute!
I prefer mixed drinks with the liquor disguised. I'm also attracted more so to a frosty drink especially if it's one with the ingredients I have on hand. This is a smooth and creamy margarita. Exchange the orange sherbet for other flavors for something different. The serving amount can easily be increased, made ahead and frozen.
Mint tea isn't just a drink in Morocco. It is a sign of hospitality and friendship and tradition. Because this drink is so popular, it is served all day long, after every meal and with every conversation. Moroccans take great pride in their tea and will often ask a visitor who among their group of friends makes the best cup of mint tea.
This recipe is from Easy Entertaining with Michael Chiarello on Food Network. You may make this ahead and reheat. Make sure to either whisk it or blend it in a blender to make it light and foamy before serving.
I used to absolutely love it when McDonald's brought out their Shamrock Shakes around St. Patrick's Day. The past couple of years I haven't been able to have it because of the dairy, so I was thrilled when I found this copycat recipe! Just use the soy ingredients to make it dairy-free. Recipe adapted from Todd Wilbur's version of McDonald's Shamrock Shake www.TopSecretRecipes.com.
Another recipe that comes from the 2004 cookbook, The Joy of Cranberries: The Tangy Red Treat, that I received from a great partner in my 1st cookbook swap here on Zaar! The recipe makes either one TALL drink, or two nice-sized shakes!
Old-fashioned soda fountain drinks are almost entirely a matter of history now w/all the new beverage varieties. I still remember them fondly from my college dys when they were already disappearing from sight & long for the spec treat they were "back then". This satisfying concoction was born out of my desire to revisit that genre, but w/greater concern for my "hip health" than I had in those dys. *Enjoy* !
