These are recipes from my family members, both closely related and extended. As you can see, my mom, sister, and husband have their own Zaar accounts here!

My husband loves cooking with lime, and here's a recipe we've recently been experimenting with - very tasty! :)

    Recipe #29130

My husband recently made this dish for a Scandinavian potluck. As strange a combination as it sounds, it's very tasty and was gobbled up by everybody at the event. Give it a try! This recipe is based on one from an excellent cookbook called "Eat the Norway," where they say: "Should you be invited to an informal evening get-together in Norway - sewing club, bridge party or the like - you may well be served this dish, particularly in late summer when Norwegian cauliflower is at its best."

    Recipe #102850

So easy it's almost ridiculous! :) These chocolate-covered pomegranate seeds are a great addition to the holiday season, and the kids will like helping to make them.

    Recipe #45549

My mom has been using this recipe since she was married in the 50's and it's as good now as then. She still makes it for me when I visit. :) It's wonderful when first served, but is even better chilled... cold meatloaf sandwiches, mmm! A versatile recipe, you can easily alter it to your own tastes. Experiment and enjoy! :)

    Recipe #43262

Old fashioned, this is from my Family Recipe Box. Like many old recipes, no specific cooking time is given. Mom even wrote it in fountain pen ink!

    Recipe #27915

Mom makes these year round (if she can get the cucumbers)... which is a good thing, because I love 'em. :) If you like pickled veggies, you'll love these! Prep time includes marination.

    Recipe #36433

This warm sauce goes wonderfully well over bratwurst, kielbasa, smoked sausage, grilled salmon, steamed broccoli, or even plain old hot dogs.

    Recipe #28554

This is what we have at Christmastime with our steamed puddings. :)

    Recipe #48895

During the holidays when I'm visiting with my family, one of the things my mom and sisters and I do is to swap recipes. Mom has a notebook stuffed full of recipes she's saved since she was first married, and this is her favorite dressing from that collection, one she makes on a regular basis. Delicious!

    Recipe #108985

Some people think tartar sauce is no big deal. But I've tasted some pretty darn bad versions (and I have yet to try a store-bought version that tastes good), so here's my favorite: my mom's recipe. The most important thing about tartar sauce, in my opinion, is that it be not at all sweet, but savory and rich instead (if you like sweet tartar sauce, this isn't the recipe for you).

    Recipe #27336

Mom's recipe is different from most of them I've seen out there, and it's pretty darn good. :)

    Recipe #43271

From my Family Recipe Box, I remember Mom making this when I was little. I remember icing on it, though, which isn't included below. A cream cheese icing would be nice. From the Family Recipe Box, in Mom's handwriting, dated 11/9/70.

    Recipe #28246

A traditional recipe, from my Family Recipe Box. I remember this one from my childhood.

    Recipe #27952

This is the method for making polenta that my mom swears by. :) I asked her where she got the recipe, and she thinks it was from the Oregonian newspaper.

    Recipe #52733

A childhood favorite, whenever Mom made these meatballs they'd disappear quickly off the dinner table!

    Recipe #27654

I came across this when I was looking for a way to use some cooked leftover chicken I had. I adapted it a bit to fit our taste.

    Recipe #107981

Mac and Cheese has always been one of our comfort foods, and I found the recipe in Country Woman Magazine this month. I made it and found it to be wonderful!!! It was quickly eaten by the family, with no leftovers to be found. I did add an extra 1/4 cup of milk and stirred the mac and cheese once while in the oven about 15 minutes in, to help the melted cheese to be more evenly distributed.

    Recipe #107782

When I visited Amish country in Penn. I fell in love with the Fried Chicken they made. Here is one of their recipes. Very tasty!

    Recipe #107674

I have always loved my mom's apple pies, and after many years, have asked her for her recipe.

    Recipe #107484

This alone for me is a reason to stop by Knotts Berry Farm's Resturant and have their famous chicken dinner.I remember as a child, going there for special occasions. And I never miss a chance to stop by and eat there when we are near by. I love their Cherry Rhubarb Sauce that comes before the main meal. Try it, I know you will love it!
