I saw this recipe made on 30 Minute Meals. These shrimp and scallops in the light tomato broth are delicious. I've even made this without the saffron (with a touch more garlic and spice) and it was still full of flavor. I substitute vegetable broth for the chicken, but feel free to add it back if you prefer.
If you are going to make a white bean & tuna salad (which, if you've never had it, might not sound good, but is) with canned goods, this is a good recipe. This is from a book called _Culinary Journey to the Mediterranean. You can serve this with pita bread or pita chips, and/or on a bed of arugula or watercress.
i made this for dinner tonight and i just had to share, it was so good.prep time considers the time it takes to make stock, but you can always use water. serve this with hot sauce on the side, some like it hot! you can also make this with crawfish only, as i did in this photo.
This I made as an appetizer but you sure can make a meal of it! Open faced hot sandwich.

I found this on another recipe site many years ago and it became a favorite back then. I recently came across the recipe again and thought I would share it here. Originally by Tracy Seaman in _An Italian Christmas Meal_; "Food and Wine", December 1994.
I remember making these as a young girl during lent. The last time before today was for my FIL who is gone now for 22 years. He enjoyed them so. These small fish are very addictive. This simple recipe is easy quick and only 4 ingredients. Smelt is the name of a family of silvery fishes found in cool waters. Most measure less than 8 inches (20 centimeters) long. Smelts have a small, fleshy fin behind the dorsal fin on the back like trout and salmon. This is very inexpensive, making it great for those on a tight budget.
Inspired by a recipe from Cooking Light, this is a simple but full flavored dish. The original calls for flounder but works well with sole and other mild fishes. Really surprised this isn't in the 'Zaar collection already as it is one of our favorites.
Simple . . . flavorful . . . quick . . . low-cal. I advise the use of both LOW SODIUM chicken bouillon cubes as well as LOW SODIUM soy sauce when possible so that you can adjust the salt level to your own preference.
Here is a simple delicious recipe that will amaze your friends and family. If you love Sashimi you will die over this recipe. Give it a try and let me know what you think. I have never met anyone who hasn't asked me for the recipe. Enjoy and A Hui Hou (Until we meet again)!
