    Fish for Non-Fish-Lovers

I used to hate fish, but I've been teaching myself to like it since it's so good for you. Here are some recipes, largely untried, that sound like they wouldn't be too...fishy.

This is from Anjali Vellody's FOOD column, Weekend. Enjoy! Note: Since this recipe calls for yogurt instead of cream, it is considerably low-fat!

    Recipe #101922

Halibut is a low fat, very mild flavored fish with a firm flaky meat. It is easily available year round, relatively inexpensive, easy to grill and lends itself to almost any flavor. I found this recipe in the local Living Magazine & was intrigued by the salsa. I'm sure it would be wonderful with any mild fish such as grouper, flounder or snapper.

This recipe is posted for the Zaar World Tour 2005. This sounds like something I would love!

    Recipe #133946

This has a long list of ingredients, but it's easier than it looks. This is a fat-free recipe, but feel free to use olive oil instead of water for sauteeing.

Several different spice combinations make these fries versatile. Try also with regular potatoes. Delicious!! from local newspaper.

One of my favourite weekday dishes! This is my take on a Weight Watchers recipe a friend of mine gave me years ago. I've been making it often ever since, dieting or not! It's quick and simple to make and you can easily adjust it to your personal taste. For a vegetarian version, substitute vegetable broth for the beef broth.

Great low-fat seafood dish with a Jamaican-style salsa. Good for summer parties.

Nice blend of flavors for this fish. This was a recipe I altered some from a cooking magazine. This recipe may also be broiled. Leftovers are even better the next day if you have any left.

This is a quick and easy dinner solution. This comes from another website. Update: After a number of reviews I have changed the ingredients list. When I made this, I too thought the cloves were strong but DH liked it so I posted. I have since changed the ingredient list and reduced the amount of cloves and nutmeg. Please feel free to adapt as necessary for preference. Thanks everyone for your input.

Mined this off the web and made my own version of it for dinner. I had some frozen mahi mahi from Tader Joe's and it was so perfect with the tomato basil sauce! Do not sub the sauce--or if you do, consider adding some of the below ingredients, like fish sauce. The sauce is a little sweet and goes especially well with seafood. This is also really, really easy--good weeknight meal.

This is one of those that just came out of the things in my kitchen. But when it came together, we all said, "WOW! that's good."

Mahi-mahi is a very lean, moderately flavored, firm but moist fish, with solid flake. You could substitute amberjack, mullet, pompano, grouper, farm raised catfish, or cod.

    Recipe #140432

I like this for its simplicity. It's almost a meal on its own, but also perfect for potluck dinners or picnics because it doesn't need to kept cool.
