This is another recipe from Aces, from the Best of Bridge series. It's quick, simple and tastes really good. You can also substitute canned corn for the frozen. ZWT Mid-West region (corn).

    Recipe #177704

This is really good and really easy for the results you get. I got the original recipe from Bon Appetit, and changed it a bit...you have a fair amount of leeway to add other ingredients to this, like chicken. I add the creamed corn to thicken the soup. I can't remember the exact can size, 16 oz could be wrong, but it's the "regular soup can" size. Sorry. I don't really know why I add frozen corn, maybe because I always have some wasting away in my freezer. It was the first thing I made my DH when we were dating...we got married last year! Was it the soup? Enjoy!

This is a thick, hearty chowder. The recipe originated from a member of the Canadian Army. Serve with fresh rolls or thick slices of bread, if desired. Recipe courtesy of Allrecipes. Posted for Zaar World Tour II.

I found this in the food section of the newspaper last week, and it sounded intriguing. Posting it here so I don't have to worry about losing it.

    Recipe #172482

Great hearty soup . . with fresh bread it's a meal in itself. The original recipe came from Keegan's, a local restaurant in Phoenix, however I've made modifications to it over the years. Lighter version can be made by cooking the potatoes in 2 1/4 cups broth.

    Recipe #169671

This recipe is quick and easy. My boys like it because the shrimp makes them think they are eating "high-style" (their words). I like it because it can be on the table in less than 30 minutes.

As with most chowders, this is much better served the second day. Let it sit in the fridge overnight, reheat and serve! Sometimes I will add some crushed red pepper when I saute the onion. The Maine shrimp can be substituted with other small shrimp.

An invention that was a huge hit

    Recipe #155547

Potatoes, cheese, broccoli, ham, and carrots. This is a nice comfort food for those cold winter days. I sometimes add garlic in mine as Im a garlic lover.

    Recipe #147621

I make this often in the cold months it's a very tasty potato chowder. All ingredients can be adjusted to suit taste. If you want a richer soup add in 1/2 cup whipping cream and use only 1-1/2 cups half and half.

You can use refrigerated meat or cheese tortellini for this soup. This is a meal in 30 minutes.

    Recipe #144798

A great chilly-day chowder. Serving amounts are an approximation.

    Recipe #142475

Mr.D's chowda, my brother in law born in the south and myself a new englander, this was created for him without losing the new england flavor.

    Recipe #123258

Crock pot E-Z; creamy, chunky fully-bodied chowder using cubed leftover ham and Half and Half(substitute, if you choose) to tempt your taste buds. Even better next day or can be frozen in muffins cups zipped tightly into large plastic bag for individual use later. Base recipe from internet with my upgrades. I'm trying it over rice as an encore; whaddya think?

    Recipe #114274

No corn, no chicken broth. This salmon chowder is a bit different. Even picky eaters and kids like it. Found this recipe on the internet.

    Recipe #109321

As a New Englander I can tell you this is the best Clam Chowder around! It's from The Vanilla Bean Cafe in Pomfret, Connecticut. This is the original recipe. In addition to the onion & celery I sometimes like to add 1/2 cup shredded carrots.

    Recipe #94713

A nice hearty hot soup, great for lunch on a chilly day. Unlike a lot of fish chowder recipes, it contains no potatoes, so it's a good choice if you're trying to go light on starchy carbohydrates. Use more chili powder if you like. May be served with crackers.
