This is a play on words, meat balls and colby jack cheese Balling the jack means getting on down the road, Now it is Hammer down,Pedal to the Metal.(accelerator down) A good Chowder served with cornbread or Garlic Toast.

    Recipe #166676

Kale provides a striking contrast to the smooth consistency of this hearty and satisfying chowder. [This recipe is not one of my creations.]

    Recipe #182948

Great hearty soup . . with fresh bread it's a meal in itself. The original recipe came from Keegan's, a local restaurant in Phoenix, however I've made modifications to it over the years. Lighter version can be made by cooking the potatoes in 2 1/4 cups broth.

I'm not sure where this recipe came from but I started making this for my grandfather when I was 12 yrs old. My grandfather will be turning 92 this year and still enjoys my clam chowder.

You can use refrigerated meat or cheese tortellini for this soup. This is a meal in 30 minutes.

    Recipe #144798

A wonderfully thick, delicious and comforting corn chowder that is a snap to put together.

    Recipe #100839

A hearty one-dish meal with a salad and some nice bread. Combo of several recipes i have tried. Came about while looking for a way to use up leftover baked salmon from one of those HUGE filets from Sam's Club.

    Recipe #24604

This recipe came from the National Fisheries Institute--it is a favorite among them. My family loves it too.

Crock pot E-Z; creamy, chunky fully-bodied chowder using cubed leftover ham and Half and Half(substitute, if you choose) to tempt your taste buds. Even better next day or can be frozen in muffins cups zipped tightly into large plastic bag for individual use later. Base recipe from internet with my upgrades. I'm trying it over rice as an encore; whaddya think?

    Recipe #114274

I created this for the Ready Set Cook contest in 2003. Morsels of mock crab in a spicy creamy asparagus soup. Microwaving the vegetables is a time and nutrient saver, but you could also boil or steam them.

    Recipe #65081

Don't let the name scare you. It is very good

    Recipe #25314

A simple no-fuss dinner that is delicious when you don't want to heat up the kitchen. Excellent with fresh baked, crispy bread.

    Recipe #34676

Spicy chowder that's different from all the rest - why? It's the chipotle peppers and roasted corn. If you're not crazy about spices, you can start off with just a hint of the chipotle and jalapeño and add more later, if you like. This is one of our favorite recipes; I even served this to my boss and my boss' boss when they came to my home for a departmental cookout (nervy, huh?)! Adapted from a Gourmet recipe.

For a soup as simple to prepare as this, it looks very eligant and tastes better!! One of my favourites when company is coming.

    Recipe #11404

I make this often in the cold months it's a very tasty potato chowder. All ingredients can be adjusted to suit taste. If you want a richer soup add in 1/2 cup whipping cream and use only 1-1/2 cups half and half.

    Recipe #145293

This is one of the recipes I adopted -- it's gotten 5 stars all around, so I won't change it, but I wouldn't use margarine or cooking oil -- I would use either light olive oil or unsalted butter. I also might substitute half and half for the milk, to be a little decadent once in a while...

    Recipe #319

Pumpkin and spice add a great flavor to pork sausage and potatoes. Delicious! Great as a main dish or a first course. Serve with good crusty bread. Enjoy!
