This combination of sour cream and lime is to die for (if you like limes lol). I use it instead of plain sour cream in lots of recipes, and have changed it to tangerine, lemon or other citrus fruits as well. 3 recipes on zaar use it, but it deserves its own spot as a condiment in its own right
Yesterday was my turn to bring snacks to my Cuban salsa class -- the dance that is. After scanning dozens of recipes, I couldn't find what I wanted so I created this one. After watching my classmates tip the bowl, I decided it was worth posting. While the ingredients are familiar, the ratio of tomatoes, beans and corn is quite different from the dozens already here. So easy, its a crowd pleaser.
I know it sounds weird with the pepper in it but believe me it is fabulous!
I got this recipe from my brother in law who runs Texas Restaurant Association in Austin, TX.
Good served with meats like pork, turkey & chicken. Great to spread on sandwiches!
Great as an appetizer served over the infamous cream cheese block with crackers such as wheat thins or sociables.
You let it marinade overnight or 2 nights to meld.
EVERYTHING MUST BE FRESH!
Keeps forever in the fridge.
This is a Paula Deen recipe. I made these for a fight night get together we were having and my guests loved them. In fact, I wanted more and they were all gone! Hope you enjoy this easy and delish recipe. Prep time includes cooking time.
I have been making this salsa for years, and love to make it for special occasions, it always is a hit. I also love to make it for gifts. I get some really pretty canning jars, fill them with the salsa, and decorate the jars. It's best to let the salsa chill 8 hours or overnight before use, to let the flavors meld together....mmmmmm
These are pretty easy, tasty and are a great appetizer or snack before the football games start, or you could even add beans/rice and Margaritas for a meal! For a more South-of-the-Border taste, add some diced Jalapeno peppers or green chilies before frying these. ;)
