    Salads

If salads weren't so much work, I'd have them more often — that's often what I order at restaurants. I love salads, I just don't like all the washing, cutting, chopping, etc. to make them happen. I know, I'm so lazy!! I do love a good salad and I have my favourites. Here's some I've found, some I've tried, and many that I PLAN on trying.

A slightly sweet dressing with the crunchiness of sugared almonds makes this an outstanding salad! Recipe is requested every time it is served. Found recipe in Woman's Day magazine in 1995.

    Recipe #40516

This is from Taste of Home magazine and after discovering it, I've never bought Caesar dressing again. I love it that there's no quickly perishable ingredients and it's all stuff pretty much everyone has on hand at any given time.

    Recipe #174591

I love this salad. It's high protein and low in fat. Its tangy and crunchy and just plain tastes good. Whenever I make it, it's gone in no time. It's great in sandwiches, tortilla roll-ups and I like it on crackers. I'm guessing on the exact measurements.

    Recipe #177614

This is a wonderful summer side, or great appetizer!

Fresh , Crisp summer chicken salad, with the taste of lushious sauteed mushrooms.

    Recipe #176538

This is a great summer pasta salad, or actually any time of the year pasta salad! Everyone raves about it!!!

Better then takout. Nice summer dish. Great for picnics.

    Recipe #122757

I have made this many times to serve at get togethers and I always receive rave reviews from everyone! if desired the amounts may reduced to half --- to save some time the beef may be cooked a day ahead, and refrigerated overnight as it must be cooled completely before adding the ingredients in with it, you may want to purchase two bags of nacho chips and use one to serve on the side --- when cooking the ground beef, I always try to leave it into larger size chunks, it looks better in the salad, really you may use any size bag of nachos that you like, the 12 cups size is only estimated, you can add any amount desired in with the ground beef/salad mixture, just make sure to add them just before serving as they tend to get soggy --- see my recipe#76616 -- I sometimes add in a can of drained and rinsed black beans :)

    Recipe #116326

This salad has a great combination of tortellini, tomatoes, onions, olives and cucumber with a tangy caesar dressing. We sometimes eat is as a main dish too.

Great, cool, summer recipe for dinner. The ingredients can be easily changed to meet one's individual tastes. Quick and easy as well. This recipe is from about.com, but originated from a the 92' Pillsbury Bake-off. Prep time includes 1 hour to chill. Enjoy!

    Recipe #93448

I love the combination of roast beef, horseradish and dill. If you have leftover roast beef on hand, you can make this in minutes. This cold dish encompasses all three. If you like, you can add 1 or 2 baked potatoes, diced, though I don't usually do this unless I have to extend the salad to more people than usual. Please note that, as written, the lettuce is just meant as a bed to serve the beef salad on (I usually omit it when making it just for myself). If you want to mix the lettuce INTO the meat salad, increase the amount of dressing.

    Recipe #91878

A little twist to the traditional egg salad! This is Mexican with a little Southwest influence!

    Recipe #67582

"Hey Lacey You are bringing the salad right?" And everyone knows it is my tuna macaroni salad. Its been a hit for years with the young and old alike, summer or winter, serve it cold or hot, (omit the cuke if you like, when hot).

    Recipe #93751

This a tasty salad for when you need a change from the same old salad! I hope you enjoy this as much as I do... I got this recipe from a co-worker and I am glad I did, it is really good! Oh and easy to make too!

    Recipe #107211

This recipe is perfect for summertime. Also great for pot-lucks.

    Recipe #105203

I got this recipe from a coworker at the salon I work at. I didn't think it would be so wonderful and addictive! It's very creamy and sweet, and a great mix of flavors. It will be the best thing you ever use grapes for (except maybe wine!).

    Recipe #35450

There are actually 8 layers, but as long as I have known my husband, his mom has been making this for all of the gatherings and it has been known as 7 layer salad! This salad looks especially nice in a glass bowl to display the layers.

    Recipe #57930

Cool, refreshing salad with a Mexican flavor. This can be served as a side dish or entree. (Prep time includes 1 hour refrigeration time)
