Try this Thai Shish kebabs with Recipe #227477 using 4 skewers or be sure to soak the skewers for at least 30 minutes in water.

    Recipe #229176

A tasty, creative, and inexpensive meal. This works for imitation crab meat, which is easily separated into small pieces. Feel free to use any vegetables that are quick to cook. The oil keeps the imitation crab from burning and the remaining marinade (which is fine, since the imitation crab is precooked) is used for the potatoes.

    Recipe #217872

A nice, easy shrimp dish to grill or broil.

After my friend Edith Gump and I left the nail parlor- she was excited to make this delicious BBQ Shrimp Wrap for our cocktail hour. Which lasted three hours. While they are delicious wraps... after our third glass of Grey Goose she was having a little trouble using her new two inch red nail extensions... so she just skewered them and ate them right off of her fingers. She admitted to stealing the recipe off of Food Network but was too drunk to remember from which chef. She is such a lush. Note: Prep time assumes you are sober.

I adopted this recipe after the original poster left Zaar. I haven't tried the recipe, yet, but will make any necessary edits when I do. The original comments: "From Food and Wine June 2004. I made these for my Memorial day Party and everyone wanted the recipe. They are fabulous! The Feta Dill sauce has a nice clean, summery taste to it."

I use jalapeno chillies for this dish because they have a delicate flavour. Try to get a variety of colours - red, green and yellow.

This recipe comes from a Moroccan cookbook that I once found in a bargain book shop. You can either use the grill on your oven or BBQ them. They are really tasty and served with green salad they make a light meal. The coriander in this recipe refers to fresh leaves/cilantro, not the seeds. The preparation time includes time for marinating, otherwise it would only be about 15 minutes.

Adapted from a pamphlet of seafood appetizers I found tucked into one of my sister's cookbooks, with a couple changes. This dish may be prepared ahead and refrigerated, then grilled just before serving; sauce can be prepared ahead and reheated. Serve as an appetizer OR on a bed of rice as an entree, with small dishes of condiments (chopped peanuts, chopped scallions, coconut, etc.) to sprinkle on it. Preparation time does not include marinating time.

This is a great eye catcher. Its a great way to start off the conversation before dinner! ;)

If you like garlic, you will love this recipe. With a sense of the Mediterranean in your spirt, one taste and you will be whisked away to perhaps the South of France where lovers whisper into each other's ear... Italy where Mothers call to their children, and Fathers whistle at their wives. Continue to Portugal and Spain where the seafood is fresh as new rain, and Greece where music is the food of life. So many more countries along the covetted Mediterranean shores. Enjoy these Brochettes with Orzo, dip your baguette into the sauce; you will live forever.

When DH received Steven Raichlen's 'How To Grill Barbecue Bible' cookbook as a gift, this was the first thing he made. So simple, yet an elegant appetizer. The flavors are to die for! (you'll want to soak the skewers for about an hour, so plan a little ahead)

Whether you are on the South Beach diet or not, the marinade for the fish is very tasty. These can be eaten on Phase I of the diet. So far I've tried these kabobs using tuna steak and I'll be trying it out on salmon next. This recipe is courtesy of the South Beach Diet book.

Shrimp marinated in lemon, garlic, and parsley for 30 minutes, then grilled. Can be used as an appetizer or main dish. This recipe also works well with scallops.

These are great for BBQs! You can use an indoor grill pan or broil them, too, so you can have them all year round. :)
