This was my experiment to create a dish without cream of something soup. My neighbor arrived while we were eating. She asked for a taste and the next thing I knew she was sitting at the table eating out of the baking dish!
This delicious dish uses Parmesan-breaded chicken breasts sauteed then baked with Jack cheese, mushrooms and a white wine sauce. It is guaranteed to be one of your favorites. This dish goes well with a pasta side (try angel hair pasta with garlic herb butter). You may also use a drier white wine if you prefer.
While watching FoodTV, I saw a piece about Amy Ruth's restaurant in New York where the owner made fried chicken dipped in a honey cinnamon mixture. It looked so good I began searching on the web for a recipe which approximated it... and after much browsing of webpages I put together a recipe that I thought might taste something like it. I don't fry my chicken, so here's a baked version, tweaked to my own tastes.
Super easy recipe. If only candles came with the scent this gives off while cooking! If you're a cayenne wimp like myself, you might consider cutting down on the already small but powerful quantity or omitting it altogether. But maybe you authentic Texans want it even spicier! For deeper flavor, marinate for a minimum of 4 hours before cooking. From Allrecipes.com.
My friend Windy gave me this recipe the other day. It was easy to make and was a nice change to those recipes that call for a can of 'cream of this or that soup'. Friday's Pal has this recipe posted but she has a couple of extra ingredients in her's. I made extra when I fixed this so we are having it again tonight.
This is so easy and yummy. It is a Heinz 57 recipe. I had it the first time at a restaurant in Texas and was so surprised to see the recipe on the bottle of Heinz 57 sauce that was on the table. Lucky me!
Tender chicken slowly baked in apple butter. . .sure to be a favorite with your family just as it is with mine! This is my own concotion and should prove very simple to make for even the beginner cook. You just may already have all of the ingredients in your home! Just be sure that the chicken breasts are not too thick (more than 1 1/2 inches) or you may need to increase cooking time.
