I'm not sure where I found this recipe, but it has become one of our family favorites. It is so quick and easy to put together and does not require marinating time. This is excellent for summer meals because it's so light. Also great sliced over salad greens for a complete meal.

These skewers are ideal for a BBQ, the sauce makes the chicken so tender. Add garlic for extra flavour. Sake & mirin are available from Asian supermarkets.

Yes that's right - 40 garlic cloves, about four heads of garlic! Try to use large, plump. fresh heads. Best-ever chicken guaranteed! After two hours of slow roasting ,the chicken is fragrant and melt-in-the-mouth tender, and the roasted cloves of garlic are a sublime spread on toasted crusty bread. This aromatic provencale dish cooks the garlics to a soft puree that is sweet, nutty and socially acceptable the morning after. My family have been enjoying this for years, and they think I put a lot of work into it. But instead for two hours you can put your feet up!

Sweet and spicy. How can you go wrong? I feel these are similar to the ones served at P. F. Changs. This can be served hot or cold. I usually serve this with a cool yogurt and cucumber salad. I use the leftovers on my lunch salad the next day.

Adopted from zaar Feb 2005. I have made this recipe and have taken aboard Peter's comments re the Leek. I cut the leek in thin slices and it turned out fine.
