This recipe makes an elegant cake that is beautiful garnished with fresh fruit such as strawberries. Despite the lengthy instructions and long list of ingredients, the cake is very easy to prepare and assemble.
found this in a box of recipe clippings at a Church garage sale
this is a real time saving cake that frosts while it bakes..to set the crust, cool the cake in the pan about 15 minutes...then remove and complete cooling, crumb side up on cake rack..the final touch is a sprinkling of powdered sugar, blended with milk and flavored with vanilla...
This upside down cake is 2 layers with cherries and nuts! Also, pretty easy 'cause it starts with a mix. This came from the Philadelphia Bulletin, which no longer exists...so this is a pretty old recipe :)
