An excellent substitute for those brand name sodas or the pre-made mix full of chemicals that SodaStream sells.

I literally CRAVE this amazing, hearty soup from Panera when the weather begins to chill.... this is the closest recipe I have found to theirs. The best part is, it's ready in less than an hour!! I've found that the reviews are right and have lessened the amount of flour; originally 1 cup; just use 1/2 or a bit more depending on how thick you like your soup (Panera's is VERY thick).

Recipe #438883

This is another TOH recipe. I have made it rolled in pecans as the recipe states and also rolled in mini chocolate chips. I like it better in the chocolate chips but then I will always choose chocolate. I serve this with graham crackers, but I think it would be good on really any type of cracker or plain not to sweet cookie. Cooking time includes chilling time.

A piece of ham, a ham hock, or bacon can be added to the beans, but they are delicious without meat. If the beans need thickening, mash a cupful and put them back in the saucepan. To make frijoles refritos (refried beans), mash all of the beans by hand or in a processor and fry them in vegetable oil in small batches. This is a very refreshing recipe I have used for years. It comes from the bag of Ocean Spray Cranberries bought in the grocery store. This time of year cranberries are plentiful where I live (in fact I have a huge bag 21 pounds in the refrigerator) so right now I try to give new recipes a try before the fresh ones have to go into the freezer. Give it a try it goes great with your Thanksgiving dinner. Enjoy!

I like to joke that these pancakes are so light, you have to hold them down! When we have a chance, we'll make them with freshly ground cornmeal bought at local festivals. From The Best Of Country Cooking 2007

Recipe #369402

My brother created this recipe a few years ago. It's great for family gatherings, games days, or make-ahead meals. Many of the ingredients (garlic, chili powder, worcestershire) are easily adjustible, so feel free to modify to your particular taste.

My husband is not a big fan of cake, so for his birthday each year, I make cream puffs for him. He loves these so much, I have to make sure he only eats one or two at a time so he doesn't make himself sick! There are several cream puff recipes out there, but this vanilla pastry cream is a bit different from the others and it's really wonderful. Prep time does not include 2 hours chilling of pastry cream. From the Good Housekeeping Illustrated Cookbook.

I had these last year at a Fall Festival and I had to have the recipe. They were served with Recipe #191429. This fall I have started craving them again! The serving amount and time are estimates, I don't remember from last year how long it takes or what the servings are.

I used to spend all day cooking a pot of beans and watching them carefully so they didn't burn. The crock pot solves that problem. Serve a big bowl of these with big piece of cornbread...That's good eating.
