This is my very favorite gingerbread cookie recipe. The dough is so firm and nice to work with and is so wonderful smelling that it is almost like a stress reliever. These disappear in lightning speed in my house! This recipe is adapted from a recipe in the Joy of Cooking and according to the entry they only have 3 grams of fat per cookie! If you want crisp cookies roll out very thin. Thicker cookies = softer cookies, thinner cookies= crisper cookies. If the dough is too sticky, chilling should help. **I noticed a lot of people have been having some sticky dough issues. You need to make sure you let the dough rest at LEAST two hours. For some reason this helps make the dough more workable. I live in FL and we have terrible humidity, but I have never had a problem with sticky dough in this recipe.

This flourless peanut butter cookie recipe is excellent and so easy to make. Your kids will love it and you will too! Because this recipe contains no flour, the true taste of the peanut butter comes through loud and clear! I hope you will enjoy these cookies as much as I do!

I tested 8 different butter cookie recipes, looking for the "perfect" butter cookie. It had to be buttery, a little crumbly (like shortbread), and not too sweet. This is the winner. I think these are the Worlds Best Butter Cookie, courtesy of Chef Alice Medrich.

I moved out of the house in 1992 but my dad still insist I make his chocolate chip cookies for him. After much searching these are the ones we deemed "best". Soft and chewy but with a lightly crisp outer layer. If you don't want the crispness, substitute more butter for the shortening. I have found that you need to follow the directions *exactly* to get the best cookies. Not using real butter or all brown sugar, not beating the eggs in one at a time, not baking them at a higher temp than the "traditional" recipe, all make a difference in the end result. I have also found that Land o' Lake butter makes a better cookie than some generic brand butter. Don't let the butter sit out too long. It needs to soften but if it sits until the moisture starts to separate from the butter, it is too soft and it will affect the resulting cookies. If that happens, refrigerate the dough for about an hour to help them not spread as much. It also helps to use the mixer on the dough in between batches going into the oven. It helps keep the dough from starting to separate if it is a warm day. Another thing I've learned is you have to make sure there is plenty of circulation in your oven. When I moved, my cookies started turning out flat again. I finally realized that my oven was smaller at the new house and when I switched to smaller cookie sheets, my cookies turned out perfectly!

These cookies are absolutely delicious and absolutely addictive! I keep rolls of it on hand in the freezer and just slice off as many as I want to bake at one time. They never last long. My 2 year old LOVES them. Another winner from FC...

My grand-daughter sent me this recipe she says they are delicious. These cookies work very well using Splenda or Splenda for Baking,in place of the white sugar. (note, I have been trying different ways to cut down on sugar, using 2 tablespoons molasses in stead of the brown sugar works good and using the splenda for baking, I have also used all butter instead of shortening & butter with good results)

These are quick and easy; my cowboy devours them!!

This cookie is BY FAR my family's favorite cookie that always disappears first on the Christmas cookie tray! They are very simple, but kids and adults alike love this chewy, chocolaty cookie. I usually double the recipe, which will use one 12 oz. bag of M&M's. You can make these festive by using holiday M&Ms, which I love to do at Easter and Christmas

The secret to these cookies is baking them at a low temperature. They are dense like a scone, with a cake-like inside. Recipe from "The Market" in Denver. My teenaged son LOVES these! Tip: I flatten the cookies slightly with a greased bottom of a measuring cup, about halfway through baking, which produces a flatter cookie.

These are absolutely the best gingerbread cookies I have ever tried.

So easy to make and always a hit!

    Recipe #34390

(No Wheat / No Egg) Cookies in five minutes! No wheat or egg so these are great for wheat or egg free diets. A friend gave me the original recipe that called for white sugar and they were great that way. I tried it with brown sugar and that is the ONLY way I'll fix them now! Totally a new level. Only takes 10 minutes total to prepare these.

Amazingly soft, delicious cookies! When I made this, I used Ghirardelli chocolate and was just short on the called-for amount of pecans. The dough was really hard after refrigerating overnight, and I found it easier to roll it into balls by hand rather than the ice cream scoop. I adopted this recipe after its original poster, Mean Chef, departed the site. Mean posted the recipe on Feb 12, 2003.

I first tried this recipe for my daughter's graduation reception. These were the first cookies gone and I had lots of people asking, "Where DID you get this recipe?!" I have tried lots of different chocolate chip cookies over the years and these truly are the "ultimate" in my family's opinion. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

    Recipe #38730

These are always a good pick for bake sales, school treats, picnics, etc. It's a slightly "lighter" (lower in fat) than other whoopie pie recipes.

    Recipe #116992

These are wonderful soft and chewy ginger cookies. They make a lovely afternoon treat or could be put in a lunch box. They are originally from "Hey, Mom! I'm Hungry!" by Susan Powter and were supposed to be cookies to use to make ice cream sandwiches. Honestly, though, they never last long enough in our house to put ice cream between them! They are gobbled up as soon as they are cool enough to hold!

    Recipe #99325

This recipe came from a 1960's calendar my mom has. She would make these every Christmas for me. Now I make them every year. They melt in your mouth. Not sure on the exact yield, it depends on what size cookie cutters you use.
