    Endless Soup and Stock Pot

Soup is real comfort food to me. I can make a meal of soup and bread (put enough carbs in the soup and I'll even skip the bread). On the cover: my Creamy Cabbage Soup

Perfect comfort food on a snowy or cold night. this is the most amazing soup I have ever had and it gets even better reheated the next day! Not only that but anyone I have made it for has become addicted even if they do not like sauerkraut. It is my mother's recipe and I was easily able to make it vegetarian. It can also be made low fat. I have listed both options for meat eaters and vegetarians. It can be made vegan if vegan ingredients are substituted for the dairy ones but I have not tried that yet. It is best with buttery crackers but it is plenty a meal by itself. Note: I am not sure of can and package sizes so they are estimates, but I think that I am pretty close, this is a hard recipe to ruin.

The Golden Lamb Inn is the oldest hotel in Ohio, having been established in the Warren County seat of Lebanon in 1803, which makes it more than two hundred years old. Many famous, well-known people have stayed at the Golden Lamb, including a dozen United States presidents, Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Daniel Webster, and Lord Stanley, who became one of England's Prime Ministers.

Got this one from my mother-in-law, but I added seasonings & veggies. This a great "box car" recipe and gives you a way to use turkey up without everyone getting tired of turkey. Do not use a turkey carass that has been brined or smoked, it's just to salty.

If Alton created it, it must be good. And for Alton, this recipe is unusually simple. ;)

This recipe comes from The Simply Healthy Lowfat Cookbook, 1995 and makes up a wonderful tasting chicken broth that freezes well for long storage.

    Recipe #333654

This method takes a very long time, but is SO worth it! The flavor is unbelievable and will improve any soup that calls for a chicken base. It's drawn from Recipezaar recipes #118258 and #191401, and my own alterations. Extremely tasty made with turkey as well.

This is the best that (in over 50 years) I have EVER tasted. Please don't leave out the spices---makes the soup.

A low-effort way to make chicken soup for those times when you need it, but don't feel like putting in the effort. You can of course substitute the herbs for whatever you have lying around or like, but I like the lemongrass because it helps open up the sinuses.

This is what my grandmother used to make when we were sick. It is a delicious chicken soup that I could eat anytime. Mamaw said the Chicken Tippy Toed in and Tippy Toed Out. Just the perfect amount of flavor and nutrition for when you are feeling under the weather. I dont know how many times she made this for me but it always seemed to make me feel better

Can't believe this one's not on here! The womens' group at my church serve this for suppers occasionally, and it's great! This is (I was told) a very traditional German soup. I've also seen it with rice instead of potatoes.

This is homemade goodness! I was disappointed by the number of recipes I saw with bouillon or broth in them. My favorite chicken soup is made with a whole chicken, water, and veggies... and the taste is pure and delicious. No MSG or other fillers getting in the way. To make this truly from scratch, you could make your own egg noodles as well (try recipe # 95311) but pre-packaged ones do fine too. Adjust the noodle amount to how you like it... either a lot of noodles or a little. Enjoy this soup when you are under the weather or just as a warm comfort food. We love it served with a nice crusty bread with butter. Oh, and my 2 year old loves this too! It's perfect for little fingers and noodles and veggies are soft for them to chew.

Better than campbells. ** I use boneless skinless chicken for a healthier soup ** I use swanson chicken broth to replace the flavor lost using skinless chicken

    Recipe #359487

Lots of carrots and parsnips give old-favorite chicken noodle soup a sweet savor. To balance this effect, use the optional parsley, which is just slightly bitter - or maybe cilantro

I made this Gluten Free Roasted Chicken Stock a few days ago in order to help my husband and myself recuperate from the sniffles we each seem to have picked up last week. We're recovering quite quickly. http://www.elanaspantry.com/how-to-roasted-chicken-stock/

Almost as good as my Mum's recipe.

    Recipe #390788

This is a variation of a recipe I found on here. So yummy. True Comfort food. I have also made this using homemade noodles and it turns out fantastic. Also, if you have left overs, refrigerate them and the next day the broth thickens to a sort of gravy making it even better imo.
