I have really been on a iced coffee kick as of late. This is one version I've tried and really like. You may use cooled coffee, but I think the flavor is better if you pour hot coffee over ice. Time doesn't include time to brew coffee.
I just watched Barefoot Contessa and she made a romantic breakfast for dinner for her husband....I have posted the other things she made which are recipe #85443, recipe #85449 and recipe #85447. She also made sausage links which I'm sure everyone knows how to cook in a pan ;>
The amount of sugar and salt is not detectivable in ths drink, but is needed!
Note: More then 2 of these will let you know why it is so named! Have a good hangover cure ready the next day if you drink more then 2!
This is another recipe from "The Big Book of Preserving the Harvest" by Carol W. Costenbader. It is supposed to calm the nerves and digestive tract. If you grow your own herbs and dry them, it is really good, but you can use storebought.
My friend will only drink Chocolate Martinis. Her favorite is from Tony Roma's. We called the bartender who shared her recipe. This is different from everyone else's. I make this up and store it in a small drink container in the fridge and whenever my friend comes over it is ready to go.
Quick to make and very refreshing on a hot day. This has been adapted from Rita G. Springer's 'Caribbean Cookbook'. I never add the sugar. Obviously, you could add a shot of vodka to make it rather more daring.
