Thank you again, Sara's Secrets! I got this recipe and idea for stuffed crust from Sara Moulton's show on the food network. Made it last week---yielded four little pizzas. I topped two with lots of spinach and fresh thinly sliced seeded roma tomatoes, and the others I made with stuffed crusts and topped with zucchini and tomatoes and cheese. You can also use this dough as a calzone or focaccia dough. You could easily make a batch of this and then freeze it and pull it out whenever you want!
having a loaf of bread left over from a meal bothers me, as does a drop of meals left over. so i made this with the leftovers, great 30 minute meal.
( you can always saute some beef and sausage, or just microwave them and add them to the pizza to finish cooking in the oven.
I like to figure out restaurant recipes so I can make my favorites at home (we have a 20 month old girl need I say more!) This is a yummy version that makes great leftovers.
Recipe #123659 makes two 9 by 13 deep dish pans or you can make 1 pizza and a small batch of breadsticks.
The comment I hear from everyone the first time they eat this is, "This is the best pizza I've ever had!" My daughters have old high school friends who still ask for this. It's very filling, so one pan goes a ways.
