    Fruit Desserts—Sinful

[Cover photo by LEEZAH 4.] Most of these are only slightly sinful; in many cases the recipes could move from the "sinful" to "healthy" categories simply by substituting light versions of ingredients such as sour cream, cream cheese or whipped topping. For recipes that are low-calorie (under 400) and low-fat (under 10 grams), see my cookbook Fruit Desserts—Healthy ; another cookbook Fruit Desserts—Spiked contains recipes incorporating wine or liquor. My other fruit cookbooks: Fruit Snacks and Appetizers , Salads: Cool and Fruity and Pineapple—Surprise! .

I got this recipe from a coworker at the salon I work at. I didn't think it would be so wonderful and addictive! It's very creamy and sweet, and a great mix of flavors. It will be the best thing you ever use grapes for (except maybe wine!).

This is sweet, crunchy, hot and cinnamonie. Is that a word? Go ahead and use your favorite choice of nuts. You can replace the rum with apple juice if you don't want the booze. But remember the alcohol will burn off. Ice cream goes sooooo well with the hot soft apples.

From March 7th's Ottawa Citizen. The woman featured is a vegan who promotes raw living (raw living consists of no food being cooked at temperatures higher than 46C (115F). She (and many studies) claim food is healthier this was and retains more nutrients. Well I don't know about the claims, but this sure sounds good!

My neighbor brought this over one evening for my husband and I to sample. We just happened to be entertaining some guests, and hadn't planned a dessert. When the meal ended, I brought out the two portions and divided it carefully amongst the group. We practically licked our bowls clean, this was so wonderful. He had pulled the recipe from epicurious. Makes a beautiful presentation, very simple, very good. just be certain to use a good-quality balsamic.
