When I landed on this recipe while surfing the web, I had to try it. I'm so glad it did. They are delicious. Tip I: The dough should be soft but not sticky. It took me two attempts to get that just right. Tip II: I posted the recipe as written. After, several batches, I don't press the dough into a rectangle anymore. I divide it into eight equal pieces and pat each piece into a 1/2" thick round. Then, turn each round in dish of cornmeal.

I only had medium cheddar and can't wait to use sharp cheddar!! Went great for soaking up garlic butter pasta juices and doesn't even need mayo or cheese for a great ham sandwich!
I got this recipe with the set of instructions when I got my bread machine. My ABM makes it in less than two hours. I usually take the dough out after the kneading has been done and continue with the baking process in a normal oven. This is very rich. Hubby loves it.
This is an adatation from a recipe I have had for years. It was originally from the Fleischmann's Yeast Cookbook. I have made it often and have finally adapted it to mixing it in a Bread Machine on the dough cycle. One pkg of dry yeast may be substututed for the 1 Tbs listed. It may not be necessary to 'proof' the yeast, but that's how I make these yummy, soft English Muffins. Toast & top with butter & jam - Perfection !
Years ago when I lived in Colorado, a neighbor, Pat gave me a loaf of bread for an early Christmas present. It was so lucious that I asked for the recipe, and then discovered it was made in a Bread Machine...so asked for one for a Christmas gift from my husband. I have been making this recipe ever since. It is the favorite of all breads I make. I usually use the dough cycle and bake in a conventional oven since I prefer the crust texture that way.
Leavened flatbread with semolina and anise seed typically baked but I grilled for an outdoor party and it was fabulous.

Using 2 flours and a meal, this is called third bread and can be found in many old cookbooks. It is light, honey colored bread that will sink a bit in the middle. It has a chewy crust and sweet, rich satifying flavor.
We're having avocado sandwiches for supper tonight and I wanted a nice bread to go with them, so I made a loaf of Pumpernickel. I didn't have any caraway seeds, so added a handful of sesame and sunflower seeds as well as some oat flakes. I did this when the machine beeped 3 times. This will give the bread more fiber and taste. I made a 2 lb. loaf with a medium crust. and followed the recipe for my Bread man Bread Machine. I've listed the ingredients as I put them into the machine. The estimated time on the bread machine might vary for yours, my bread machine sets the time automatically.
