This is my standard loaf of white bread, good for anything. Very soft. I mix it in the bread machine then bake it in the oven.
As with all my bread, I let it cool and then slice the whole loaf and put in a freezer bag and freeze and then I can take whatever I need out and have fresh bread. This does not include machine and rising time.
When the Romans invaded Greece their eating habits changed drastically. The Greeks were better bakers. The Greek slaves taught the Romans to use several different flours in a single loaf instead of one common flour as they did in Rome.
I haven't tried this one yet, but I thought it a nice addition to the Bread Machine cookbooks out there. I found it at CDKitchen (http://www.cdkitchen.com) and will be making it tonight. I'll be back soon with an update.

This is posted in response to another member's request for a challah recipe that could be made in an ABM. The actual recipe asks for one egg mixed with enough water to make one cup plus one tablespoon of liquid. Since eggs vary in volume, the amount of water listed in the ingredients is approximate. Since the bread is made with an ABM, processing and rising time are included in the cooking time.
This is a recipe from my ABM's manual. Be advised that this is more of a savory bread than a sweet bread, but it is very delish! A very nice bread to serve as a side to soups or to make into french toast!!! Make sure you cook it on the sweet bread cycle and light crust! Recipe is for a 1 lb loaf
We live where cans of crescent roll dough are not available. I searched the 'net for something I could use as a substitute. While I don't claim these are EXACTLY like the canned ones, they're close enough for us. This came from Allrecipes.com (called Blue Ribbon Overnight Rolls). I've always made the dough using a bread machine, so I can't give any feedback making it without the machine. The dough is very easy to work with. EDIT: I just realized this is very similiar to "Recipe #136121", but these ingredients are slightly different and provide bread machine instructions.
We're having avocado sandwiches for supper tonight and I wanted a nice bread to go with them, so I made a loaf of Pumpernickel. I didn't have any caraway seeds, so added a handful of sesame and sunflower seeds as well as some oat flakes. I did this when the machine beeped 3 times. This will give the bread more fiber and taste. I made a 2 lb. loaf with a medium crust. and followed the recipe for my Bread man Bread Machine. I've listed the ingredients as I put them into the machine. The estimated time on the bread machine might vary for yours, my bread machine sets the time automatically.
