I feel sad for anyone who has never been to a Cheesecake Factory restaurant. This cheesecake is out of this world! I think you will find the nut crust quite unusual. Sometimes I double the crust portion of the recipe just so I can have a thicker crust.
This is a decadent, moist cheesecake that never fails. I got the recipe from my sister-in-law who brings it to every family function. There are never any leftovers!
*This cheesecake needs to be made and refrigerated one day in advance.
Hope you enjoy!
This is the consummate cheesecake. You won't want any other's after you've had this one. I like to take my ingredients out on Friday morning before work and bake it Friday night when it's cool and quiet. That way it's ready to serve early Saturday.
This looks so pretty and tastes delicious!!! I can imagine it at a bridal luncheon or even as an untraditional wedding cake. Great for Canada Day with the Red/White of if you want to make a Red-White-and Blue cake for the 4th of July, make it one pint raspberries (or strawberries) and 1 pint blueberries. But make it over the summer, when fresh berries are readily available, for sure.
An elderly client of my husband used to travel to Toronto at least once a year and he always brought my daughters a bag of chocolate turtles as a present. After he passed away I adopted this recipe to remember him by. My girls call this Marvin's Cheesecake.
This is yummy & a nice change from the usual chocolate, cherry, etc. cheesecakes. The crust is a nice change also from the graham & chocolate ones. A tip that was listed is that you can make this ahead of time, pop it in the freezer, ready to serve for up to 3 months! Store right in the springform pan covered in plastic wrap and just thaw in the refrigerator when ready to use.
When I orignally posted this back in Jan 2002, I said I had not tried this recipe because it looked like a lot of work. Flash forward to Easter 2007..I finally broke down and made this, and I was right, it is indeed, a lot of work. But it is so worth it. This tastes just like the Junior's cheesecake I ordered off of QVC. I made it again last night for a co-workers birthday and brought it in...everyone was swooning and begging for the recipe! Next time I make this I will make the sponge cake layer a day ahead and just cover it tightly with tin foil and leave it out overnight. You do want to make this a day ahead before you plan to serve it as it's best chilled for at least 8 hours. Enjoy!!!
The most evil good tasting dessert I have ever had! Cookware : 10 inch springform pan. And Usually when I cook this cheesecake I get a small crack or two. I found a remedy to this problem though, if you place another rack underneath the cake while cooking containing a bowl of water you will not get any cracks. The water steams up and prevents the cake from cracking this method however will require you to watch more carefully; if you bake it too long the cake will be more like soup. Better to cook and just leave the crack, the taste will more than make up for it I promise!
" A finalist in the 2001 Nestle Toll House Share the Very Best recipe contest, this dessert was submitted by Audra Burtch of Chandler, Arizona. This family favorite is a marbled cheesecake topped with a decadent combination of pecans, chocolate morsels and caramel and chocolate syrups. "
