    This is a pleasantly creamy dressing ideal on a lunch or dinner salad made with cooked chicken or turkey, along with salad greens and some orange slices. It might go nice with tuna, as well.

    This is a recipe I picked up at a food fair, from a booth promoting apples. Since quality Granny Smith apples are available year-round (here in North America, at least), this is a good apple cake to make any time of the year.

    I collect celebrity recipes, but this is one I had and didn't know it until today. This recipe from Hopalong Cassidy (actor William Boyd) was found in A Cowboy Christmas. He says, "This is a fine recipe that will be utterly ruined if you cook the chickens over too hot a flame."

    This is an authentic cowboy meal from the days of the settlers. Have I made it? Nope, and don't intend to! Found in the book, A Cowboy Christmas. The book says, "This traditional cowboy dish is not for the faint of heart."

    This recipe is a longstanding Canadian late-summer tradition; I have seen similar recipes in very old cookbooks. My mother-in-law taught me to make this back in the summer of 1983, right after my son was born. This is definitely a two-person job; it's a lot of work -- but the resulting relish is well worth the effort. She never processes it, but you certainly can if you want -- or just store the jars in the fridge. They won't last long; you'll be eating this with everything! :-)
