I had some turkey and I wanted to use BBQ sauce and had none. Why I will do this in the future is the chili sauce component lasts forever in the fridge and longer when using standard canning methods.....so I will always have some on the shelf. I also like that I can adjust the flavor to my desires that day.
Have you ever needed BBQ Sauce and not have time enough to make it? This is a great TASTY solution. It is also easy to manage the heat. It has a rich flavor when you tell people you made it, they will think you slaved over it for hours
At a winery last week I tasted several fabulous infused olive oils. Rosa was kind enough to share with me how to make them myself. This can save a bunch of bucks!!! All are scaled to 1 cup of oil. If making a bunch for presents, just scale the recipe. Then look around and think about other things you would like to use....maybe truffles.
I am so glad to have a method to fix one of these if they break. It was in the April 2012 Bon Appetit. If the sauce is then and greasy instead of fluffy and creamy or if oil seeps from the sauce or pools on top - it is broken.
This recipe comes from recipelink. Suppose to taste like the "Chicken Kitchen" sauce. Very flavorful. So simple to make. Great for dipping chicken,pork or whichever you like. Make it the night before wanting to use, so flavors can blend in.
