This is an easy dish to make. It is a great crowd pleaser and a good dish to bring to a potluck where you have to bring a dish to pass.

    Recipe #274910

This is a "lazy" supper. Can be prepared early in the morning and refrigerated till time to bake. Great flavor combo. Using hot sausage adds a Bam!

    Recipe #21123

In its very simplicity lie the secrets. This sauce is incredible. It has 3 ingredients, and no chopping. The amateurgourmet calls it Marcella Hazan's CRAZY tomato sauce. This is not your thick pasty sauce, it is a light luscious wonder. Add garlic or basil or mozzarella to it as you choose but try it this way first. The butter..DON'T switch to olive oil, it makes the sauce.

    Recipe #273976

This recipe comes from the Nicholas Sparks Book called True Believer. It has only three ingredients and my husband absolutely loves it!

    Recipe #272471

Another authentic dish from friends in Naples, Italy. So easy to make and so delicious. If only my husband wasn't allergic, I would make this at home.

My favorite linguine sauce. Spicy but not overpowering.

    Recipe #248992

Great Grandma Giovana came to us straight off the boat from Italy. Here is her pasta autentica, with some modern day adaptations.

    Recipe #208977

This is also referred to as ricotta and spinach gnocchi or ravioli gnudi. I find this recipe to be a little bit time consuming, but well worth the trouble. This is a pasta dish without the pasta and very low in carbs. Without the added breadcrumbs, these little dumplings are tender and light. Note that the instructions will belabor the issue of draining and squeezing out the spinach until dry. It's important!

Cooking the meatballs in simmering pasta sauce will not only add so much extra flavor to the sauce the meatballs will be melt-in-your-mouth tender, you may of course oven-bake the meatballs for about 25 minutes, --- don't be afraid to add in more Parmesan cheese and a little more milk, there is no need to measure exactly, this recipe is pretty much foolproof, leftover cooked meatballs make a wonderful pizza topping just slice thinly and freeze until ready to use ----- these also make wonderful juicy burgers shaped into patties-- for more of my tried and true recipes check out my food blog at www.kittencalskitchen.com

A quick, different pasta sauce. Use whatever herbs you wish.

    Recipe #13849

My mother got this recipe from an Italian police officer. A very quick recipe to whip together when you are short on time. Serve over your favorite pasta.

I adopted this recipe from Recipezaar. I hope to give it a try soon and make changes if needed.

    Recipe #10861

My mom made this every Sunday for as long as I can remember. I recall coming home from wherever I was and smelling this incredible sauce! I would immediately reach for the Italian bread to start dipping before dinner. My mom always said it wasn't done yet, but I didn't care! My brother would go through a half a loaf of white bread with this sauce before dinner...it was that good. Try to make it exactly as it is written out...you will be pleasantly surprised and your house will smell heavenly! The little bit of extra work is worth it!!!

This is something that John enjoys cooking when it's his turn, it's great with a glass of wine. You can serve it as a sandwich or over pasta.

This makes a great deal of sauce but it freezes very well and can be used in any way you would use a red sauce. The Italian ham makes all the difference in the taste. Also, for those who have made sauce and it has been "acidy" I have never had this problem with the imported tomatoes. Every time I make a batch, I give some to friends. They all love it. It also works very well with

aka Italian White Christmas Cookies. I have had this simple recipe for years. This makes a basic soft cookie that can be iced and decorated for the holidays

    Recipe #4502

This is a variation of Alton Brown's Baked Meatballs recipe.

    Recipe #235842

Posted by request, these pretty little cookies are very often served at holiday gatherings in many Italian American families. You may shape them any way you prefer, and change the flavoring of the icing slightly to suit your tastes. The original recipe came from one of my favorite community style cookbooks called "Preserving Our Italian Heritage" compiled by the Sons of Italy Florida Foundation. I combined several variations submitted by 5 different ladies, all of whom used the same basic cookie recipe but used slightly different methods in shaping and icing the cookies. The yield will vary depending upon how you shape your cookies.
