    I originally submitted this without trying it, as it was in response to a request. I finally got around to trying it last week, and realized there was a mistake, as the ingredients in the cake part should have read: 8 tablespoons butter, melted. Also, you can't "pour" the cake into the pan it has to be patted into the pan like a pie crust. Anyway, here is the revised version. I also cut down on the sugar, using about 12 ounces or 3/4 of the box. This is awesome-a Paula Deen classic!

    These cinnamon apples taste like a cobbler or pie without the crust. I was looking for a recipe for Cinnamon apples and all I could find were recipes for baking the whole apple - not what I wanted. After much searching I finally came across this recipe - I unfortunately cannot remember the site. It can easily be reduced to 2 or 3 apples, just watch it as it cooks. We serve this over ice cream and it is delicious. It can also be used on pancakes, waffles, or all by itself.

    Although this is a wonderful ice cream recipe (IMHO), it is an old one, and contains raw egg. Please feel free to use a fresh egg substitute or pasteurized eggs in this recipe. You may leave out the egg altogether, but the texture may suffer. The "Cook time" is for the processing time of my (your) ice cream machine. The 1/2 to 1 hour "chill time" was not included in the Prep/Cook time.

    This is sweet, crunchy, hot and cinnamonie. Is that a word? Go ahead and use your favorite choice of nuts. You can replace the rum with apple juice if you don't want the booze. But remember the alcohol will burn off. Ice cream goes sooooo well with the hot soft apples.

    This is the pie that captured my DH's heart! This is a great recipe that uses only 1 pie crust. I recommend using a deep dish pie crust to minimize spill overs. *Pls note that the first time flour listed in the ingredients, it should be 1/3 cup flour as listed in the directions.     When I first had Indian rice pudding for dessert at an Indian restaurant, I knew I had to get a recipe for it. This one is great! It's from the Food Network's "Good Eats" with Alton Brown. Note: The ground cardamom is one of the ingredients that gives this rice pudding its Indian flavor, but some people may find it overpowering. My mom liked this recipe, but found the cardamom flavor a bit strong, so use less if you're not sure or leave it out if you don't like it. I think it will still taste great.
